Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! We left the Legend's after the first children of the legacy, twins Artemis and Aphrodite, had just aged up into children. Will they be the only children of Generation 2, or is Gavin in for more stress as he tries desperately to get a roof over his family's head?
Read on to find out!

The twins begin their childhood honouring the time-honoured Legend tradition of showering at the gym. I'm getting rather tired of this place considering none of my Sims are interested in working out, so it's essentially just an inconvenient bathroom to them.

However, it does have a TV which can be utilised even by those who never treat this place as a gym. The girls head downstairs and flick it to the kid's channel (sorry to anyone actually, you know, working out) and watch it in their towels. Inappropriate! You could have gotten dressed! There's no money for fun things at home, though, so this TV is a bit of a saviour.

The girls also very quickly get introduced to the concept of park eating, enjoying their first hotdogs with Gaia watching on proudly.

Gaia: didn't cost me a dime, this meal.

I know that Gaia. You are a scrounger. And your children are growing up learning to be the same!

The girls also enjoy a spot of fun at the park. Isn't this a cute shot of Aphrodite on the monkey bars? Sadly there's nothing on free lots I can think of to work on her Artistic Prodigy aspiration but at least she's enjoying herself. I did get around to building Newport with gallery lots by this point but I haven't had the family explore it yet.

Artemis, however, can work on her Social Butterfly aspiration. From reading other legacies it sounds like this one is a pain in the arse, but we'll see I guess! She introduces herself to this kid, whose name I didn't write down, and they have a fun time playing pirates.

Gaia continues to be a really cute and involved Mum, playing sea monster for them.

Unfortunately she's not savvy enough to stop this from happening! As an evil Sim Aphrodite rolled a whim to be mean, and she took it out on her sister's new would-be friend. Poor Artemis, I doubt he's going to want to come over to play now!

Back at home Gaia's garden is still flourishing, and I found a cow plant berry in her inventory! I hadn't been trying to find it but she digs for treasure a lot so it just happened naturally. And good timing too, because she needs to grow one for her aspiration. I've never grown a cow plant in older Sims franchises, so I'm a bit nervous about it, but needs must!

Shortly after Gaia is done planting a vicious predatory garden plant while not having fences to keep her children away from it, J drops by for a visit. These two are utter trouble - every time they visit each other they start autonomously flirting, regardless of whether Gavin is there or not. It started happening when Zoe replaced J as Gaia's best friend (I wanted to see if Sims can have more than one best friend - they can't). That does not mean Gaia is back on the market, J!!

...Fortunately Gavin is still at work right now. Gaia, it might help if you weren't constantly in your knickers whenever he comes around.

Mind you, Gavin isn't much better. We haven't seen much of him this chapter but he's normally just plugging away at his books in the library or working. This time, he stayed in his towel after showering at the gym. Nina is friends with Gaia, though, and Gavin is smart enough not to make any moves...actually Gavin never makes any moves on anyone but his wife. He's much less troublesome than Gaia!

He's still besotted with Gaia, in fact, enough that despite lawn living with two children, they find time to get busy on a frequent basis and eventually the inevitable happens.

Gavin: pregnant? Again? We have no house!!!!
Gaia: *shrug* this will happen if you insist on a nightly roll in the hay, darling.

(It IS definitely Gavin's child, if you were wondering! J and Gaia's little trysts on the side never progress past mild flirtations).

Gavin: I know it's not great timing but I'm happy we're having another baby. I'll work even harder so we can buy a house.

Speaking of house, this is their frankly absurd living situation now. I had to buy beds for the twins, and a mirror for their makeovers, but otherwise have gotten away with spending no money.

Gaia's second pregnancy proves a lot more trying than her first. She's nauseous a lot and actually sick once!

By now the girls have started attending school, which means homework. This is a major annoyance since there is nothing fun for them to do on the lot and homework is a killer on their fun bars. They play together sometimes but it doesn't generate fun very effectively - not sure if that's standard, or if it's because their relationship isn't high enough, or it has something to do with Aphrodite's evil trait. She is occasionally autonomously mean to her sister although they also have a lot of positive interactions.

Gavin continues to spend a lot of his time at the library, and sometimes while the twins are at school, Gaia goes with him. I was just pondering whether the two of them bumping into J together was going to cause trouble when....

Gaia autonomously donated $1000 to charity.

ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS.

I contemplated letting the cow plant eat her when it was fully grown, I really did. We were at over $10,000 in household funds and she bumped us back down to $9300. She lost all library privileges after that! But this is a legacy and there are no redo's, so the money loss stands.

And that is the end of Chapter 8! Will poor Gavin ever get his house, with his wife making it difficult at every turn? Tune in next time to find out :)

Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! In the last chapter the twins grew up, Gaia fell pregnant again, and our hard work towards a house was undermined by her charitable ways. We're still over halfway to getting this eternal lawn living family a roof over their head, though, so full steam ahead with Chapter 9!

And this is why I want a house so badly. Aphrodite and Artemis are both smelly and miserable. I can get away with a shower every second day as long as they wash their hands and brush their teeth regularly, but the gym showering routine is wearing very thin.

Aphrodite cheers me up by choosing to dance in her towel for fun instead of watching TV, though. Kid sims dance much better than poor awkward adult sims!

I don't have to wait long, either, before spotting the monster under the bed. This turns out to be quite disruptive for the whole family, but it was cool to see.

Aphrodite isn't happy until both her parents AND her sister are dragged out of bed to help her deal with it. Mind you, I'd panic if tentacles creeped out from under my bed, too.

The family head back to bed after the monster scare, although Gaia has a midnight snack first. True to form, she is growing this baby on a healthy diet of yoghurt, cereal, and hotdogs.

And the next morning, there's another monster on the lot! My very first cow plant has grown to maturity and I actually really like it despite being terrified it's going to eat my Sims. I make sure Gaia shoves food down its throat as often as possible.

Naturally, the twins can play with it but have no other interactions, and because of a lack of fun stuff on the lot they play with the cow plant frequently. It worries me. Please don't eat my potential heirs!

With Gaia back in the garden and now earning over $1000 each time she sells her produce, the family are back on track with their house savings. To save even more, I risk letting Gavin fix the fridge himself. All of the Legend's stuff is cheap and breaks often, and while he often fixes the toilet and sink I've avoided the fridge for fear of electrocution. But, with Artemis and Aphrodite already here, and another baby on the way, Gavin is a little more expendable now.
I'm glad that he doesn't die, though - I'm quite fond of old Gavin.

To keep Gaia having fun in between gardening and collecting, she invites Nina to join her at a new museum that has just opened in Newport. Isn't it impressive? It's downloaded from the gallery and I think it's so beautiful. I also appreciate that not having all the stuff packs doesn't seem to overly effect me using really awesome downloads from the gallery.

Nina is excited to hear Gaia is going to be having another baby. I think soon I should probably pause ageing on my legacy Sims and spend a little bit of time hopping around other Sims 4 households in the neighbourhood. Both Nina and Zoe could really do with moving on their lives a bit, and I've heard story progression is anywhere from poor to non-existent in the Sims 4. I'm tempted to look into mods, but story progression mods in the Sims 3 always ended up problematic for my game eventually so I might save it for another legacy. I really want this legacy to run to completion, which means minimising glitch opportunities.

Unfortunately, I guess because Gaia has no creative type traits or whims, she doesn't find the museum all that fun.

She much prefers some more grilled food scrounging with Nina. Something different this time - burgers!

And hey, as a brief aside - anyone recognise this lady? Gaia has nicked grilled food with her before! I can't remember her name but it looks like we have a fellow park and grill enthusiast in the neighbourhood.

By the time Gaia gets home her cow plant is doing this. I didn't know what it meant, but a quick google confirmed my fears - the cow plant wanted to eat people!! Gaia hurriedly threw more meat down it's throat, and just in time too...

Because J came to visit and it would have been tragic if the cow plant ate her best friend!

Gavin is recently home from work when J drops by and is happy to see his old bro. Although J and Gaia are much better friends, Gavin and J still have a friendly relationship.

Of course, despite Gavin's reminder to J of bro status, J and Gaia indulge in a little harmless flirting like always. This time Gavin is there to see it and he is FURIOUS with Gaia for ages and ages. They avoid arguing because I send Gaia or him to community lots instead of letting them interact much, but Gavin spends like two days with facial expressions like this. It's pretty amusing watching him stamp around.

As a side note, Gavin is now quite a lot older than Gaia. Her second pregnancy has frozen her ageing again and she is STILL a young adult. Maybe when she finally ages up she'll stop batting her eyes at J? Mind you, he's already an adult and that hasn't stopped him - he initiates their flirting half the time.

Nevertheless when Gaia goes into labour Gavin attends the hospital with her.

Gaia: oh boy, I know what happens next.

I love how resigned to her fate she looks!

I guess Gavin is still pretty mad at his wife, though, because he spends her entire labour and birth playing computer games. Okay Gavin, that's a bit harsh! She only ever flirts a bit with J, she definitely loves you more.

Poor Gaia endures another session in the terrifying birth machine without having Gavin by her side.

JESUS, MARY AND JOSEPH. Another set of twins.
I know there used to be a glitch where all births resulted in twins, but this has been patched now, right? Right???
Either way, the next legacy birth is going to be at home to see if that makes a difference.

Update: I looked into this and some people seem to still be getting twin/triplet glitches as recently as March 2016 despite the patch. I'll be looking into modding if it continues.

ANYWAY. This time we have a boy and a girl! So at least there's a little variety. The little girl, on the left, is Athena Legend. The boy is Apollo Legend. I won't always be doing alphabetised names but as it happens I wanted Greek gods and goddesses for this generation and there are a lot starting with A, so I figured why not.

Gavin: RIGHT. THAT'S IT. I have four children now and they are NOT living on a lawn anymore. I bought us a house.

That's right! Gavin and Gaia finally saved enough for the cute starter house I've had my eye on for so long. It's small - much too small for six Sims - but they will make do with it. It certainly beats lawn living. I expect to add a couple of room additions as I can afford it and I've already picked a couple of options for their next big upgrade, but they'll need a net worth of over $100,000 for each. Time to get saving!

Here's a quick look inside. As you can see - very small. But they have a bathroom, a kitchen (with an oven!!) and even a little TV. I'm so happy I could cry.

And it seems Gavin has forgiven Gaia her little dalliances with J. She's now given him four beautiful babies so I think she's earned it :)

And that's it for Chapter 9! Thanks for reading. Will the Legend family enjoy total bliss now that they have a roof over their head, or will the cramped quarters drive everyone to breaking point? Find out in the next chapter!
