Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! In the last chapter we discovered Kali's genetics have managed to overpower Max's almost entirely, resulting in their three children being absurdly similar to each other - at least at this point in time. Ophelia returned from beyond the grave to ease Athena's sadness and meet her younger grandchildren, and Max did his best to parent.

This time, we return to find Kali jogging around her favourite trail (aka her home lot) to try and stave off the ever-expanding bottom. She's had three kids, I think she looks pretty good, but with age comes more butt and she needs to be prepared!

The twin's first autonomous interaction is to playfully shove each other.
Boys.

And of course, in a wildly unfair twist, Max has both naturally slim genetics and was not expected to carry three children, so while Kali jogs he gets to indulge his geekiness and play games. The Sims, in fact! It's simception!

He's not totally off the hook, though. Once Kali gets back from jogging she's in need of a bubble bath and an afternoon to herself. So she corrals Max and the boys and sends them off for some quality father-son time in the park. Max kicks off the afternoon with some grilled potatoes for the kids.

Thor and Loki still don't get along. All the lulz.

Then this happens! Max autonomously hugs Thor after Loki is a dick to him. Look, are you lot TRYING to reenact the Thor movies? Because you know how it turned out when Loki felt unloved by his father and second-best to Thor, right??

Max definitely has a favourite, though, and naturally it's his adorable little mini-me Odin.

Max: yes, this one is excellent. Look at what he's wearing, it's brilliant. Great smol person, you done good Maxxie boy.
Odin: *is cute*
In this picture it looks like Odin maaaay have gotten Max's nose? Maybe??

Loki and Odin get along much better than Loki and Thor. Odin seems all around a more relaxed kid, very happy-go-lucky, rarely upset or angry. Whereas Thor and Loki are both temperamental!

Pirate ship time! Both Odin and Thor need motor skill for their aspiration, after all. There's a kid already here to make friends (or enemies) with, too.

Thor: so if Loki tries to tell you he's better than me, it's a LIE and you should NOT believe him
Kid: lol whatever Loki is cool
Thor: *fumes*

Thor: Loki isn't cool. I'M cool.

Thor: see? SO cool.

Twins on the pirate ship! Loki has buggered off to play chess, I think, leaving the two rambunctious scamps to their thing.

Max: *focusing entirely on Odin*
Could you be a little less obvious about your favouritism, dude?

I know it's hard when he's so damn adorable, but you can't have a favourite child. It's just the rule.
Honestly, Odin is the biggest poser of a child I've ever had in my game. He's constantly pulling the blue steel face and enticing me to take pictures!

See? I love you, you little weirdo.

Also you, you angry little weirdo. In fact, although they're so similar looking, I love all the kids of Gen 4. They're expressive and interesting.

Okay this is pretty much the end of the pirate ship kid spam, I swear!

During this lengthy pirate montage Max lost interest in watching his kids and wandered off to play chess, absolutely exasperating this woman in the process. I'd like to think she's annoyed about losing, but as Max hasn't got a single logic skill point, it's far more likely she's completely exasperated by how crap he is at chess!

Also, Max is the only Sim I've ever had who autonomously does this. Is it because he's a slob??

Just before Max and the kids are ready to head out, this delightful kid turns up. It's Jeremiah! Aron and Elsa's son. No idea why he's so sad but goodness he's a cutie. They're all cute!! Jeremiah is Apollo's grandson, which I think makes him some form of cousin to the Legend children.

Hahahaha!
Jeremiah: look at all this awesome
Odin: *forced smile*

Loki: nah bro he is awesome *hip bump*
Loki made a friend! Honestly, with how mean this kid is to everyone, this is a small miracle.

It just happens that right as I'm about to send Max and the boys home from the park, Kathy rings and invites Max over to her and Diana's house (if you're forgotten, Kathy and Diana are Max's sisters). He agrees and brings the kids around for some quality time with their Aunts.
The twins are very close, lots of autonomous cutes.

Max is particularly close to Kathy, probably because they have spent more time together than he and Diana have, due to the Spaceheads.
Now, let's have a look at the super nice house I cheated Kathy and Diana into...

Ehhhh? Where's all the furniture?!
I must have forgotten to select furnished when I moved them in...
Quick house makeover! I'll consider it practice for when the Legend's finally get their new place.

I kinda lost steam with the clutter/decoration side of things, but at least they have furniture once I'm done. I am amused by the thought of these two rattling around an empty house. What were they doing, sleeping on the floor?

And the ground floor.

Kathy and Diana are so pleased with their newly furnished digs they sneak off to the study for a selfie.
#omgwehavestuff!

Family bonding at the brand new dining table. Loki manages to hold his nasty tongue in check long enough to be polite to his auntie, thankfully.

Odin and Thor disappear off to play chess instead of socialising with the others, though.

Back home, if Max has a favourite child, so does Athena after spending so much time mentoring Loki in the fine art of the violin. They're adorable together and Loki is never, ever mean to his grandmother.

Which is why he'll be devastated when this happens almost right after she finishes dinner...unbeknown to us, her last meal.

Awwww :( I'm always sad to lose an important Sim to the legacy, but I was particularly fond of Athena because she was a surprise heiress, snatching the heirship from under Artemis' nose when Art rolled the 'Hates Children' trait. She carried the mantle so well, too, bringing in a very special connection to the family in Ophelia, who was Gaia's best friend's daughter.

Speaking of Ophelia...she's here to see Athena join her in the afterlife. Omgsosad.

Far from being happy to see Athena join her, Ophelia seems horrified. That's true love, wanting the person you care about to continue living their life even if it means being apart.

Aww, she's heartbroken. I'M NOT CRYING YOUR CRYING.

Grim: yo
Max: OMFG HELP
Grim: I'm here for the old lady, not you. Idiot.

Grim: check out my sweet ninja moves

Loki doesn't make his way into the room but he knows. He knows.

Ophelia tries to cheer poor Odin up over French toast. I imagine the kid is traumatised, having been the only one to actually witness Athena's death.

Grim, who probably feels quite close to the Legend family given how often they meet socially, pauses to catch the basketball score before he poofs away in a cloud of dark smoke.

And the family graveyard grows by one.

Farewell, Athena. You were a GREAT heiress, and easily my most accomplished Sim so far. Not only did you achieve your aspiration of connecting as deeply as possible with your soulmate Ophelia, you also became a Musical Legend and maxed your violin and piano skills, achieving the pinnacle of musical stardom in the process. You had two children and four grandchildren at the time of your passing, and did this legacy proud with all you achieved. I look forward to you returning as a ghost to kick over the trashcan!

And with that we come to the end of this chapter. Athena and Ophelia have been reunited in death, and life for the rest of the family continues on despite her loss. Her grandkids will miss her dearly but they have to turn to their own roles within the legacy as they grow older. Join us for the next chapter to find out how these three mischievous boys go about cementing their place in life!
