avaricesims Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! In the last chapter twins Thor and Odin were born, which made Kali's boss mad at her for a trivial thing like childbirth getting in the way of work. Max painted, Athena mentored grandson Loki in the musical arts, and everyone was sad about Ophelia's death.
Athena needed distractions to get her through this difficult time, so she wrote another song for Ophelia.
She also threw some upgrades onto the fancy-ass stove Kali space gunned into existence.
She still grieves for Ophelia a lot though...wait one goddamn second, Athena, are you crying over Gaia again?!
(she was. Her wife and soulmate has died recently and she's still mourning her mother's death despite the fact that Gaia drops in roughly every second night).
Luckily there are more grandkids to distract her from whatever mixed up, prolonged grief she is going through.
To my delight, the eldest of them - Loki - has made friends with Shiva's daughter Karli! This is quite the achievement considering he's an asshole to most Sims he meets. In fact he may have recently been an asshole to Karli, judging by her face, but she has still taken to dropping by the house after school.
Karli: I come to see Charlie, actually. Also the two lumps of baby that have magically appeared on either side of Charlie.
Karli does interact with the twins a little, it's adorable.
Athena gets more distraction in the form of Loki's rather terrible violin playing, which she continues trying to mould by giving "constructive criticism" that Loki blissfully ignores.
But no matter what she tries to occupy herself with, she's still terribly sad about losing Ophelia (also Gaia, I guess, but come on).
But, a few nights after her passing, look who showed up at the legacy house! I thought it was Gaia again at first because her and Ophelia have similar (though not identical) hairstyles, but it's definitely Ophelia! Who heads straight to the kid's room to meet her new grandchildren. D'AWWW.
And finally Athena's heartache is eased <3 This is so damn cute you guys, I think I have something in my eye.
While Ophelia is here, despite not being very high in painting skill in life, she paints a really cool picture on Max's easel. Once she's done I store it in the family inventory - it's totally coming with us to the new house.
Meanwhile, Max paints...this.
At painting level 7, ladies and gentleman. A true artistic genius.
I sell it.
The next day I follow Kali to work again. She's built quite the relationship with the inventing robot and they're now quite good friends. Perhaps Kali will be spared in the inevitable robot uprising?
Remember how Kali made a snake oil serum meant to cure illness and I said the family could use it if it worked? Kali had to test it so she picked her favourite victim, Lewis.
Er...so that's a no on feeding it to her children, then Oo
And look! I don't know if you can tell but this lady is pregnant, so for the first time Kali isn't the token knocked up woman in the office. I don't know HOW she is pregnant given the total lack of story progression...I suspect she is one of my recently moved-in Oasis Springs Sims, previously homeless.
Lol @ passed out Lewis in the background, with Kali totally unperturbed playing computer games next to him.
Kali also gets a work goal to start building the spaceship, her very first alien-related work event. She only makes a brief start but it's a step in the right direction!
When Kali gets home after work Max asks her to dance. This is what happens. They are almost in sync and it's pretty funny, but it's not exactly romantic! I wonder if Sims figure out they should face their partner as they gain dancing skill??
Kali has a much more demanding and tiring job that Max, often coming home from work exhausted and needing to head right to bed. That, of course, means that Max needs to shoulder some of the parenting burden. Too bad he looks terrified...
Max: *eye twitch*
Max: OMG don'tdropitdon'tdropitdon'tdropit
Max: hey...if I shove the bottle in its mouth it stops screaming! *epiphany* Usually Athena helps with the babies, where's she got to?
Athena: alone time, do not disturb
This is a gorgeous picture, no? After seeing Ophelia as a ghost during the night Athena is much more content with life and it's nice to see her back to enjoying her twilight years.
It's okay for poor out-of-his-depth Max, though, because Gaia helps him out when she poofs out of her grave that night! I love it when the ghosts are helpful, and I love it even more when they interact with their descendants! Gaia is currently holding and feeding her great grandchild!
...with a break to haunt poor Charlie, of course, and no doubt traumatise the babies for the rest of their lives.
The next day Kali is promoted to Ufologist! That sounds promising, I am getting impatient for some alien contact to happen!
Kali: *is exhausted* that sounds like lots more work :(
Well, yeah. But ALIENS.
Amazingly I've yet to see a single alien in my game. I wonder if my Sims have interacted with any in disguise? Shiva did invite someone out to Alien night at the bar sometime around this point, but I want Kali to "discover" them through work, really.
And Loki comes home from school all sad :( I don't remember why, but I took a picture so here ya go.
Finally, in the best milestone of the night, Athena is promoted to Concert Virtuoso!
This is officially the first career track I've completed in this legacy! It seems fitting that Athena, who has been quite the high achiever her whole life, was the one to do it. She's been dedicated to her career and her skills as a musician and she really deserved this final promotion, so I'm glad she achieved it before she passed on. This means Athena maxed two skills, completed two aspirations, and topped her career track. Quite the illustrious record for any Sim!
To top off a fantastic night Athena is off babysitting duties because this time Gavin is out to help with the twins. Sometime recently my ghosts switched from breaking everything and scaring people to being delightful and helpful. Long may it last!
Not to be left behind, Max makes painting level 8...which seems to have little actual effect on the absolute SHITE he paints most of the time.
This alarmed lemon was a masterpiece.
Although...this realism piece is really flipping cool and Max finally manages to store a painting in the family inventory for future use in the house :)
With all the skilling, promotions and childcare going on, the twin's birthday rolls around pretty fast. Loki says goodbye to his brother the immobile infant...
And hello to his brother with the exact same haircut as him! Thor is first to grow up, as he was the first of the twins to be born.

...what the FUCK?!
What are the chances of twins ageing up into not only the same hairstyle, but also the same clothing?? Is this the game trying to tell me Odin and Thor are identical, not just fraternal, twins??

I was actually so alarmed by Odin looking exactly like Thor that I CAS'ed them, though I screwed up on Odin's picture (middle) because he's blinking.
THEY'RE ALL EXACTLY THE SAME.
NOT JUST THOR AND ODIN, BUT LOKI TOO.
Same hair. Same eyebrows. Same mouth. Same jaw. Same cheekbones. Most likely same eyes, though Odin's blinking prevents me being certain.
Good lord. Please let them develop some variety when they age into teens. I also think they might all be clones of Kali, I can't really see Max in them very much except for the twin's blond hair. I will need to take CAS shots of both Max and Kali to be sure, though. That is definitely Kali's mouth, I recognise it from Ophelia.
But hey, this is life sometimes. Weird, but Kali and Max were always going to have three children and I'm sticking to it. So, makeovers!
Thor definitely needed some shaggy hair! He's making this face because he and Loki got matching DO NOT WANT moodlets, because they don't like having each other as siblings. Lol, this is like watching an AU Thor movie.
Thor gets a funky robot hoodie and swanky red shoes to match. He rolls the Rambunctious Scamp aspiration and is Lazy (like Ophelia!).
Odin, meanwhile, is like a cute little mini-me to his father, with that preppy hairstyle and pastel outfit.
So cute! He ALSO rolls Rambunctious Scamp (you're twins!! I get it!!!) and is a music lover like Kali and Athena.
And that brings us to the end of the chapter. The boys are all children and genetic diversity is but a distant dream, but we shall wait and see what the adolescent years bring. Athena came to terms with Ophelia's death and mastered her career goals. Kali is super tired all the time, and Max is a really bad artist who somehow tricks galleries and collectors into buying awful paintings for absurd amounts of money. But hey, whatever pays the bills!
