avaricesims Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! In the last chapter we detoured into the lives of Shiva and Janelle, and Aron and Elsa - Sims related to Kali in various ways, but who do not live in the legacy household. Prior to that lovely Kali was selected as the Generation 3 heiress. This chapter we return to the legacy household and see how Kali will go about stamping her mark on the Legend history books...

Kali had to invent the hover lamp for work, though I forgot to check out what it actually does. Hover, presumably.
And through meaningful family connections, it seems. Kali is close to both her Moms, but she's best friends with Ophelia.
A legacy sim cannot just work and hang out with their parents, though. There are certain important milestones the heir must achieve, and dates with their hot boyfriend are definitely part of achieving them.
I know, it's a hard life.
I have noticed that these things tend to go more smoothly when there are fewer Sims in the date location, so an empty bar (except for the bar tender, obviously) is welcome when Kali and Max turn up to this cute Windenberg bar.
Flirtations are well received on both ends. Drinks are, miraculously, ordered with success on first try.
Much cute couple PDA ensues...
And Max narrowly avoids knocking Kali out by bashing her skull against a bar stool.
And how can we forget the awkward white people dancing?! I know dancing is a skill now so I presume this gets better with time and practice but, for now at least, LOL.
Max: hey Kali, wanna woohoo in that closet?
Kali: oh boy, yes!
Creeper: Ooh can I join?
Me: BUGGER OFF.
Okay but can I just pause to say that the closet woohoo animation is racy as hell? Like, idk if these two thing they're being subtle, but everyone in the bar saw them making out against the door before "sneaking" inside.
Needless to say the creeper didn't get to join them in there.
Kali and Max then wander out to the little cute outdoor area by the bar and Max lights the fire for some romantic atmosphere. It's a little less romantic when his passionate kiss nearly sets her head on fire. This dude is dangerous the way he flings her around!
And here I would like to pause the story to tell you something. Max and Kali stayed out on that balcony for around four hours, spamming the romantic interactions. They made out until they were almost collapsing from exhaustion and had full friendship and romance bars. But the option to propose just would not come up.
To google. I couldn't find the specific problem I was having but there was a longstanding issue from way back in the Sims 3 where romantic relationships have to progress in a certain order or they get borked. You can't propose to a Sim who isn't your boyfriend or girlfriend, see. Kali and Max were "promised" (from when they were teenagers) and "soulmates" but apparently because they hadn't made it official, marriage was off the cards.
Cue much frustrated swearing from me. I tried moving Max out of the household because the "ask to be boyfriend/girlfriend" interaction can apparently be borked because the Sim moved in without doing the relationship thing first. No dice, though. In the end, to fix it, I had to have Kali and Max break off their romantic relationship altogether (ask to just be friends) and then build it up again from scratch. ANNOYANCE.
Max: my darling, a rose for you.
Kali: didn't you just break up with me?
Max: yes, changed my mind.
Kali also gets to indulge in a spot of jogging when not being re-wooed by Max since she appears to have inherited Athena's tendency to...spread. Especially in the butt area.
There's also a spot of playing with the SimRay in her spare time. She managed to turn this decorative plant into a chair, I think. I sold it.
Mostly she spends her time rebuilding her relationship with Max, who will become a legacy spouse if it kills me (or him). Their relationship continues to glitch out with this hilarious attempt at a kiss.
And when we finally get to the point they can woohoo again it helps things along lots.
Max: let's pretend that little relationship blip never happened, yeah?
Kali: agreed.
And it was never spoken of again.
Oh, except it was, because of this. So when Kali and Max woohooed in the closet in Windenberg I actually selected Try for Baby, because they were going to get engaged right then. Also, because Shiva had a big wedding and Kali and Max have always been really low key and chill, I wanted them to be my first legacy couple to quietly elope instead of doing the wedding party thing.
Except they didn't get engaged and now Kali has popped before I can do their proposal and wedding photos.
ARRRGGHHH. Y u kill my story lines, glitchy borks?
Shiva popped around to congratulate Kali though, which was cute and a very welcome visit from my beloved Generation 3 spare.
Poor Kali, this would have to be a Neat Sim's worst nightmare. Trash and water all over the floor, and now the toilet is gonna be rank too.
Luckily Gavin the Helpful Ghost is around to help out (as opposed to Gaia the Pain In The Arse Ghost who just breaks everything and rages at the trash can).
While Shiva is around Ophelia makes pancakes (Max is in the background grabbing some) and she reaches Cooking level 10!! I had no idea she was even close to maxing this skill, but go Ophelia!
Speaking of skills and achievements, Kali still needs to work on her Club aspiration, so her preggers self arranges a Spacehead gathering for the first time in quite a while. Since she has already invented the hover lamp at work, making another one doesn't feel too much like cheating.
And hey, at least Kali isn't the only knocked up Spacehead! Elsa joins in, currently carrying Aron's baby. Her and Kali may have their kids around about the same time.
After the Spaceheads achieve enough points to buy a member space upgrade (just one more needed now for Kali's aspiration) her and Max head out the back of the clubhouse for some quiet one on one time. I changed Kali into her party outfit because omg her and Max match?! This was not done on purpose, I swear, but the cute is killing me.
And finally, FINALLY, Max is able to propose.
It's amusing he does so with a rocket ship icon over his head but whatevs.
Of course Kali says yes. At this point my casual hour of Sims before bed had turned into two hours of wrestling with frustrating glitches so if she'd said no I probably would have defied physics to reach into the screen and throttle her, to be honest.
I had to laugh at this picture, though. Kali is the biggest I've ever seen any Sim get while pregnant. She's only halfway into her first trimester and if you look at the picture above she's quite big already. Interested to see if she's having twins, to see if the game takes that into account for how it plays out individual pregnancies. Anyway, Max grits his teeth and manages not to drop her!
And that night, after a quick dinner at the nerd headquarters, Kali and Max at last make it back to Island Bluffs - the scene of their first date together as teenagers - where they quietly elope in a private, personal ceremony.
Max: hey, so, wanna get hitched or whatever?
Kali: well that was a romantic way of asking, I'm swooning /sarcasm
Max: but look, shiny ring.
Kali: ...kay then.
Awwww. Look at them in their matching pastels. They look like they should be at a rich people polo game or on a swanky yacht or something.
Magical confetti!
And that brings us to the end of the chapter. A proposal (eventually) and a romantic, private elopement mark Kali's first foray into heirship proper. It might have gone a bit screwy in the middle there but the nerds managed it in the end, in fine style might I add.
