The Legend Legacy: Interlude 2

avaricesims Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! The last chapter was the first for Generation 3, and Kali Legend was selected as our worthy heiress. This science-loving nerd with preppy geek boyfriend Max should take the Legend family in a distinctly brainy direction, but while spares may not play the starring role of heirs in a legacy, I generally love them too much to set them free into a world that lacks any meaningful story progression.
That's right - I am a control freak and I will mess around with their lives, for a while at least, even if they managed to escape the legacy household. Which means...we're long overdue for an Interlude chapter! This is a chapter dedicated to the lives of some of the Sims important to the Legend family but no longer living with them. Feel free to skip it and move directly to the next chapter if you only want to see what the legacy family are up to, but if you're interested in Shiva and some of the extended family, read on!
Last time I mentioned that Shiva and Janelle's house was very bland inside, so here's a quick tour. I purchased the best TV they could afford and figured they could work for the rest of their upgrades, since Shiva's inheritance was now all spent. This is the lounge...
The kitchen is actually not too bad, quite sweet really.

The equally bland children's bedroom.
My one stop gap measure on the interior design front was this super cool painting done by Shiva, which I will theme the bedroom colour scheme around. Eventually.
In the meantime, though, Janelle gets a makeover (nyeh she's soo pretty) and joins the Criminal career track, since she has the kleptomaniac trait and it feels fitting. So it's off to the pool to knock out her daily mischief interactions.
And who should we spot there but Ophelia (pictured: the back of her head) and Apollo, Shiva's uncle - now an elder. Also, a criminal like Janelle. They should hit it off!
I DIDN'T MEAN LITERALLY, APOLLO. This looks so painful, Janelle should have ended up with a crazy sore neck and Apollo with a broken face.
But because this is a Sims Janelle never even reacted to Apollo landing directly on top of her in the pool. Btw, how gorgeous is the public pool in Windenberg? This town in general is beautiful.
Next, Janelle swings by a cafe with her sister Nataly, for a girly catch up (and some more mischief). You would not believe how long it took me to have them both successfully order something and sit down near each other, and this was still the best I could do (they would not sit at the actual tables). For now, at least, the cafe food/drink ordering system seems to be seriously borked!
You were MEANT to be catching up with your sister, Janelle. Who are these people?!
Shiva also spent some of his early non-legacy days socialising, having being invited out to a bar by Ophelia.
Ophelia: hello there, son. Now let's go get crunk.
For some reason Ophelia invited Shiva out on ghost's night at the bar, so they and the bar tender were pretty much the only living people in attendance.
Back home, guess who asked to come around! Shiva said yes of course, and I heartily approve of the future-sisters-in-law getting in some quality bonding time.
Btw, Kali also asked Shiva around to her birthday, and I was like...nooooo? You've only just become a young adult and ageing is turned off? You can't have a birthday while I'm playing another household!? Needless to say I didn't send Shiva along to that party.
She was still a YA of the proper age when I got back to the legacy house but it's weird the game generates age-up events at random like that.

Meanwhile, Janelle and Shiva have both been working in between their social engagements and earn enough for this weirdly screenshotted bedroom makeover. Very funky, for a very funky couple.
And we can't forget to give lovely Shiva and Janelle a wedding to remember! The guest list included Apollo (Shiva's uncle) and Kimberly, Aron (Shiva's cousin), Max and Kali, Kiara (Shiva's aunt on Ophelia's side), and of course Ophelia and Athena.
As for the happy couple themselves, Shiva looks dashing in his dinner suit and Janelle looks FIERCE in a daring black wedding dress. A bold choice, but she makes it work!

Remember how J Huntington III, Gaia's first boyfriend and long-time best friend, died at Athena and Ophelia's wedding? His urn is still here! I found Kiara sobbing over it in the weird kitchen thing.
No caterer showed up either btw, Shiva had to make his own wedding cake.
But not before the ceremony, which was beautiful and held in the outdoor venue of the chapel <3

Ahhh yes, rootbeer at a wedding. Such class. Much fancy. This is what Shiva made when I selected "make favourite drink" for him, and who I am to argue with the dude on his big day.

And that gives Shiva and Janelle a gold medal wedding :)
It seems like a good enough time to consummate the marriage sans magical Sims protection, and after one delightful roll in the proverbial hay, Shiva and Janelle are expecting.
My final interference in their lives involves adding some more homely touches to their house, especially their future child's bedroom...
...and a little tiny bit of landscaping out front to intensify the cute-factor of their cottage. And this is where we'll leave Shiva and Janelle to their own devices, at least for now. I may pop back in later on because it'd be nice for them to have two kids eventually, but at the moment it's time to butt out and let them enjoy their comparatively peaceful, non-legacy focused lives.
So. Who to mess with next?
Ahhh yes. Remember young Aron Garcia, Apollo and Kimberly's son? I think he deserves better than to live his entire life with his parents, so he's the next Interlude victim.
Look how cute he is?! Take away the dopey hat and lame sunglasses and you find this adorable specimen hiding underneath. He is a brilliant mix of Apollo and Kimberly, with neither his Dad's fat face nor his tiny eyes. There's something of his father about his mouth, chin and nose, though. I love this kid! Those genes deserve to be propagated further in my opinion.
He makes a start on that by heading to that nightclub with the unworkable lighting, meeting Candy and Jade as potential candidates. They're both adults, though, and he's only a Young Adult. Plus, with the traits Good, Cheerful and Bookworm, the party scene doesn't really suit him.

Omg. This is how I find out that Artemis has died.
I checked, and Aphrodite had also passed on. It's great to see Art back jamming it with the kids in the afterlife, but I really loved this Sim and I'm super sad her life has ended. I hope I see her haunting lots of places in the future.
So I send Aron from the nightclub to the library, a place that is probably much more comfortable for him. And who should we spot but Kali, and also Elsa! Elsa, from Aron and Kali's space nerd club. Elsa, who is a Genius and who first appeared in the legacy story way back when Kali had her first club for homework nerds.
Elsa, who gets along great with Aron's family........
Okay yeah, Elsa is perfect for him. Aron finds out she's a snob as well as a genius so maybe a little high maintenance but he has the traits to deal with it!
Aron already has a decent friendship with Elsa from the Spaceheads so it only takes one romantic evening to convince her they could be more than friends...
And in record time they have moved in to their own small house together and Elsa is pregnant. Lol, I'd never do this without any story for my legacy Sims, but during Interludes I get to be as rushed as I like in meeting major life milestones.
There's just one more Sim I want to drop in on. This is Anthony Patel, Kiara's son with Damon. Damon has long since died but Anthony still lives with Kiara in the same house.
He's....interesting looking.
Or butt ugly, if we're being direct.
His traits are Mean, Slob and Active. I join him up to the Criminal career track and back out of his life in a roaring hurry. I feel no need to find him a wife so he can procreate, I don't think the world will mourn the loss of his features and personality in future Sim generations.
And that brings us to the end of this interlude! Shiva and Janelle are married and expecting their first child. Aron is happily settled with Elsa and they're also expecting. And Anthony Patel is going to be a minor criminal and not much else. Overall, a success! I literally keep a list of Sims important to my legacy family Sims and it now looks like this:
Artemis (deceased) - Aldo (elder)
Aphrodite (deceased)
Apollo (elder) - Kimberly
Shiva - Janelle (pregnant)
