Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! I know what you're thinking....a squillion chapters in, like, a week? What's with the sudden chunk of content all in one go? The answer to that is, I played really far ahead in the save file and if I don't get these written I will get confused and frustrated next time I do try to throw together a post. Especially as we're at a rather critical juncture in the story - the selection of the Generation 3 heir!

Shiva: *having a nervous breakdown* That can't be my birthday cake! Someone already ate some of it! Also, it's so rotten it's giving off literal green stink fumes.
Don't panic you little weirdo, someone will bake you your own cake. This is just how I deal with the excess of birthday cakes that are inevitable in a legacy. I don't have anyone put them away, because then you just end up with a year's worth of birthday cake in the fridge and the Sims choose to eat that and nothing else constantly. This way, they tend to only get a couple of slices out of it before it needs to be binned.

The Sims 4: Horrendous Levels of Food Wastage since 2014

See, there ya go. Chocolate cake for the birthday boy.

Shiva: *is alarmed*
So, the moment of truth! Shiva is now a young adult, just like big sister and fellow heir contender Kali. Will he roll a trait that makes my decision easier?
--> rolls cheerful.
NOPE. Ugh. So Athena is Cheerful, Music Lover, and Evil. Kali rolled Music Lover for her final trait, and Shiva rolled Cheerful. I suppose I have a very slight preference for cheerful but neither of them got anything new, instead both taking after Athena in different ways. At least Shiva will be content and happy about his insanity rather than stressed by it, and his self-assured trait means it shouldn't bother him socially either!

So Kali and Shiva were so, so even to me this generation. They both look great. They both have interesting personalities. They both have brilliant love interests. In the end what separated them out was their jobs. Shiva immediately entered the painting career, in line with his aspiration. Kali is in the Scientist career.

So introducing our Generation 3 heiress, Kali Legend!! Because Max has the Painter Extraordinaire aspiration, same as Shiva, it means I get to enjoy working on that aspiration even when Shiva isn't heir. Plus, Kali has been angled at the scientist career her whole life and it fits her personality really nicely. I might not have a Sim like her again for a while and I'd really like to get some aliens in this game! So Kali, by the smallest of margins, wins the heirship.

Which means it's my last chance to give Shiva some love before he moves on to his new life outside the legacy household. Time to hit up some museums with his girlfriend, I think!

Have I mentioned I really love this gallery download? I'm afraid I can't remember who made it but it's the museum with the giant suits of armour out front.

Shiva finishes up this date with a throwback to the early legacy days - grilled food in a park.

Though Janelle went all weird on me and wouldn't sit down and eat, electing instead to abandon her plate and pull sexy poses for Shiva while he ate. These two are such a zany pair!

The next day I decide to follow Kali to work again, because her latest breakthrough (in the bath) was the SimRay and I'm quite keen to actually invent it.

Happily it's one of her first work tasks and she is also required to freeze a coworker. LOL. Even funnier, she's never required to UNFREEZE them again...I take pity on the poor girl and have Kali chip her out at the end of the shift, though. Kali's work day is successful and she is promoted to Serum Sequencer :D

Back home, Gaia brutally snubs her daughter because she's in a bad mood...again. Look, is this because I keep cancelling Athena's autonomous mourning actions? Because too freaking bad. I love you still, Gaia, but I cannot stand having Athena moping around the house in a sad mood ALL THE DAMN TIME.

Late night jogging is much preferred to autonomous mourning these days, thanks very much. Though the effect on booty size remains questionable.

Omfg Gaia is such a child though! Whoever said Sims 4 doesn't have toddlers CLEARLY hasn't met my founder, as she seems to be dedicating her afterlife to emulating their behaviours and tantrums as closely as possible. EA obviously took all the incandescent rage of toddlerhood and crammed it into elderly ghosts.

Enjoy Athena cackling evilly over the chocolate cake. Maybe this is why the jogging isn't working...

Max is still around too, of course, as the newest member of the Legend household. He's been quite busy making himself useful. He starts at the very bottom of the artist's career ladder because he's so unskilled - unfortunately being a super villain apparently doesn't prepare one for life in the fine arts - so he's madly painting to upskill and bring more cash into the house. Ain't no Sim gonna free-ride in this household, young man.

When he's not chained to the easel Kali makes sure to reward him for his efforts, though. They're not actually engaged yet - we can't let him escape! The true horrors of being a legacy spouse must remain hidden until he's trapped married.

But really, focus for this chapter should be on Shiva, our much-loved spare. Seeing as he's been freed from the legacy chains he doesn't have to be glued to an easel all day, and can instead have Janelle over basically every day for fun and flirtation. Also petty things, like woohooing in Kali and Max's bed. Teehee.

He also makes the extra effort to actually go out on dates quite a lot, too (I think he and Janelle earned me another three gold medals between Kali becoming heir and this night). I want Dine Out rather badly for date variety purposes but it will have to wait til the next decent sale.

Who cares about an audience when you've got a hot girl to woo, amirite?

Shiva was in such a good mood he even whipped up these fancy sparkly pink drinks, though I couldn't get Janelle to drink hers.

She totally didn't need it, though. Shiva was pulling out all his best moves and frankly wooing the pants off her.

And yes, my wonderful nutty blonde popped the question! Look at the beautiful place he picked to do it, too - on the museum balcony under the stars.

To which Janelle unsurprisingly said yes. Shiva had really been putting in some quality time with her recently so I wasn't surprised, they're clearly great for each other.

Since when do museums have closets, you ask? Since Get Together makes public woohooing a thing, and since Shiva and Janelle clearly need one stat because a) they can't keep their hands off each other and b) they don't have their own double bed at the legacy house anyway.
IE/ I put one there for them because I am a benevolent and loving creator who will let their simmies woohoo in a broom closet if that's what they really want.

Fireworks! Btw if you haven't seen Sims have a fantastic woohoo in a closet, it's quite the sight. I thought the whole thing was going to collapse, there was literal electricity around the edges of the door.

Alas, I can delay it no longer. Shiva has officially been declared spare for Generation 3, and it is time for him to move out and enjoy his own life.

There are many hugs and tears from both his Moms.

And also 20,000 simoleons deleted from the family fund, because I am a masochist apparently. But Shiva and Janelle are definitely ready to set out on their own rather than Shiva moving in with Janelle's rather large family, and 20,000 is what the game dictates a Sim moving into their own place gets. Ouch. But Shiva is worth it.

And here is what they bought with that inheritance. Windenberg has some of the cutest wee cottages I have ever seen in my life. It's VERY bland inside but next chapter will be a story progression interlude that should give me a chance to get Shiva and Janelle settled into their new life. Tune in next time for that!
