avaricesims Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! In the last chapter promotions were gained and aspirations were aspired to. There were many club meetings and much socialisation. I still love Kali and Shiva equally and if Shiva doesn't age up like Uncle Apollo did (incredibly unfortunate looking) I will have a hard time picking. By the way, I know technically I said 'random' for picking the heir this legacy, but I am a control freak and I think the RNGesus has had quite enough power over me so far. So I get to choose. Muhahah.
Sigh. You know, for an evil Sim you sure are a big softie, Athena.
Athena had managed to sneak out and mourn her parents on a day that Ophelia had off work, which was annoying because I had planned a date for them that day. Athena still needs two more Gold dates for her aspiration. So I guess Ophelia will need to work extra hard to counteract that sad moodlet that is practically a permanent feature of Athena's personality at this point.
Ophelia: luckily for you, creator, I am a red hot vixen and will totally distract my bae with all this hawt.

Then it's off to the haunted mansion because omggggg it's so pretty!
Athena: ...haunted? I don't like the sound of that.
OH DON'T LIE. You're good friends with your dead mother's ghost. Chill.
Ophelia: red. hot.
(She was confident. Athena was sad. Oh, the romance).
Ophelia: dw yo I said I'd distract her, and I will.
Athena: I feel better, actually :3
Ghost blocked! Except not actually because our lovebirds didn't even glance in her direction. I love her old-fashioned dress. Athena and Ophelia were too, ahem, busy to actually check out the mansion properly, I'll have to send a Sim alone some time to meet the ghosts and see if there's a story to dig out.
They WOULD have had time to check the mansion out - it's not actually difficult to achieve Gold on a date when the Sims have maxed romance and friendship bars and are married soulmates - except Ophelia suddenly got up and did this. Just left. Wandered off with no explanation, ditching Athena up at the house.
Ophelia?! ??? What are you doing?? COME BACK.
She had no action, so I couldn't stop her. There was nothing to click to cancel. She just inexplicably wandered the maze for a while, eating into their date time. Arrrghgghg.
Athena had to head her off at an exit to finally catch her attention. The maze zombifies Sims, I guess. Weird.
But the flirt spam resumes and flirty status is obtained.
And with a passionate kiss Ophelia seals the deal, earning Athena her second Gold medal date (that counts for the aspiration, anyway).
They have just enough time left for some intentional maze wandering...
To end the red hot date with a red hot woohoo in the bushes, fireworks and all. These two always have great woohoo, even after years of marriage and two kids. Relationship goals tbqh.
Athena has to head off to work after their date so Ophelia makes the most of already being in Windenberg and swings by the gym. Which is very fancy, noice. At first all is good, she jumps on a treadmill - she needs to work off a little of that middle-aged spread.
Ophelia: wifey had two babies and looks fab still. Need to keep butt a reasonable size too, it's only fair.
But as Athena suffered when she went to the gym, Ophelia finds herself being autonomously screeched at by a terrifying gym trainer and made to increase the treadmill to frightening speeds. It's her first time setting foot in a gym, you loony toon! Her only exercise is frequent woohooing! Don't kill my Sim!
*gulps at Grim Reaper appearing in the window* Oh Christ.
But it's okay, Grim just needs to get in his daily miles too.
Grim: what, have YOU ever seen a chubby reaper? I didn't think so. I'd be the laughing stock of the underworld.
Ophelia: working...out...*puff*...next...to...*pant*...death. This...is...*wheeze*...fine.
Back home Shiva has been abandoned by his family and yet he still does his homework. Cutie. I don't expect you to be a nerdy swot like your sister.
Kali is home too but she's far too busy checking herself out (actually practicing her speech, probably for debate club or something knowing her) to keep an eye on her little bro.
But it's okay, Gaia is back, and helping herself to the food and cooking facilities. You know, if I died and came back as a ghost, I sure wouldn't be eating salad all the time.
It's not my fault you look bored, Gaia. There's plenty of cake in the fridge you could have helped yourself to.
Gaia: hello, grandson. Don't bother with salad, it sucks.
Shiva: thanks for the sage advice, ghost granny.
She cheers herself up with a rousing solo game of chess, though.
The next morning I finally get my a into g and send the whole fam-damily around to Apollo and Kimberly's house for some long overdue extended family socialising. Poor Apollo; as he's not in the Musos he gets ignored compared to Artemis and Aphrodite.
He seems to be living a simple, happy life of family bliss though. I didn't write down who made this particular starter home and put it in the gallery, but I love it. It's tiny but fully functional, it even has a kid's room. I'm glad Apollo has a great life outside of the legacy.
Athena: nephew of mine! Good to finally meet you. I missed all of your baby and child years but better late than never, right?
This kid, who seems to have gone for "cool" in his dress sense and taken a slight detour into "confused", is Aron Garcia, Apollo and Kimberly's son. This makes him Ophelia and Athena's nephew, and Kali and Shiva's first cousin.
Ophelia takes advantage of the situation to try and bump up her friends list a bit. She has the "friendly" reward now, so when she meets someone new she instantly gets a good relationship with them. She has to build relationship slowly with people she already knows, though. This leads to the weird situation of Kimberly becoming a friend after a single interaction and Apollo, with a much higher friendship bar, only counting as an acquaintance no matter how long she talks to him for. Glitch?
Kali makes friends with Aron, too. Family bonding!!
Then, without any prompting from me, the whole family ditch Apollo, Kimberly and Aron and head to the park behind the house. They're hungry, lol. As it happens Artemis is already there.
And so is Aphrodite! (I don't know why I only have a butt shot of her...). Poor Apollo, upstaged at every turn by the charismatic sisters.
Weirdly, Ophelia got a text from Dina - her mother who has been dead forever - congratulating her on being friends with Kimberly. Um. Strange.
Back home, and it amuses me that Shiva always jumps out of bed looking like this - thrilled with the world and life. If only we could all have this much energy in the morning.
He looks more appropriately tired by the time he gets to the breakfast table, though I'm sure he will soon fix that with a bowl of refined sugar the size of his head Oo
Or with a birthday!! Yep, it's time for Shiva to age up! Ophelia and Kali are there to celebrate with him. No idea where Athena is...either at work or out the back at the graves, I'm guessing.
Kali: *inserts herself into very centre of photo* Now, just because Shiva is ageing up doesn't mean you should forget about me as a potential heir. You know, the smart, sensible one. Even if he is cute. Okay?
I have the nerves. Shiva's kid face held suggestions of interesting genetics, but you never quite know how the child to teenage transition is going to go. Genetically blessed or smashed repeatedly with the ugly stick? ...
GENETICALLY BLESSED. Shiva is so cute!! He definitely inherited Athena's mouth (originally from Gavin) and I think he got her eye shape, as well as colour, too. Ophelia's blonde hair though. In contrast Kali looks a lot like Ophelia but with Athena's red hair. How will I ever pick between them?
Shiva is uber cool as a teen, and both he and Kali rock the glasses. I guess Gen 3 are visually not quite so gifted! He rolls the Self Assured trait to add to his Insane trait, and the Painter Extraordinaire aspiration.
And this of course calls for a house makeover. The kiddie furniture is packed away and the teenage furniture dragged out of storage. I also move the easel, previously on the front deck (where it was unused and unloved) into Shiva's room, since he'll be the one utilising it.
And that brings us to the end of the chapter! Now that I am confident I love Shiva and Kali both, what on earth am I going to do? Shiva has a more interesting aspiration, and insane Sims are fun. But Kali looks more different to the last heiress, and has a slightly more cohesive personality.
I'm thinking I'll play these two to young adulthood before picking, and hopefully their last traits will help me decide. Next chapter coming soon!
