avaricesims Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! In the last chapter we got to meet, properly, Generation 3 of this legacy. Shiva and Kali are both cuties, for now at least, though I must admit having only two children for this generation makes me nervous. What if we have a repeat of the Artemis hating children fiasco?
I suppose I can only wait and hope for kindness from RNGesus.
You would think, being each other's only sibling, Kali and Shiva would hit it off. This picture would appear to suggest that would be the case. But, spoiler alert, Kali and Shiva end up being...totally indifferent to each other. They don't fight but they barely interact at all. Shiva isn't geeky enough for Kali's homework club and she prefers to nerd out with them, over entertaining her annoying, mad little brother.
I need to make a start on Shiva's Rambunctious Scamp aspiration so it's off to the park with the Legends, sans Ophelia who is at work. Athena busks for cash monies while the kids are let loose.
Shiva obligingly starts working on his motor skills on the playground.
Shiva: *poses freaking adorably* I know Kali the geek is your favourite but don't rule me out as heir yet. I'm way more fun than her.
Shiva: even Karen thinks so.
Kaitlyn: my name's not Karen, idiot.
Shiva: shutup I'm trying to sell myself to the creator.
Kaitlyn: you're nuts.
Shiva: well yeah.
Kali, meanwhile, has disappeared. I don't know what she did during this trip to the park but it wasn't play like a normal child. She probably beelined straight for a chess table.
Shiva: yeah, like a total NERD.
Shiva: god, I TOLD you she's a nerd, her dumb homework club is here again.
Look, Shiva. I am a twenty six year old psychologist. I went to university for 8 years and I love video games. I AM A NERD, you're not gonna convince me not to pick Kali on that basis!
Kali: you suck at chess, Karen! Lolz!
Kaitlyn: IT'S KAITLYN what is with this family.
Ahhhh, Shiva and Kali are both little shits. I love them :D
Meanwhile, Athena is back at the park (does this seem familiar to you? Guess who else spent way too much time at this park - Gaia. Like mother, like daughter) this time on a date with Ophelia. Another okay date for these soulmates, which bumps Athena up to the next level of her Soulmate aspiration!
Now she needs three gold dates. LOUD SIGHING.
Ophelia uses some time at the park after the date to meet a few new people for her aspiration (which is still stalled at 7-8 friends. Whenever she makes a new friend someone else drops back to acquaintance from neglect. MORE LOUD SIGHING). This chiselled creature is Bjorn Bjskfsfhksfaskdjf, a new Sim from Get Together. I like him. A lot. Get Together has tossed HEAPS of new Sims into my town, which is fab - I hope it continues to spawn heaps more, including kids, but I will have to wait and see if this could be the long-awaited fix for declining town populations over time.
Athena also takes advantage of being in the park to nab some practice on the piano, which she needs to learn for her job. Even if I could afford a piano (I can't) it won't fit in the teeny house. Park life 4 lyf.
And yes, there is an outdoor piano at Magnolia Park for wedding purposes. Shhh, it's fine.
In fact Athena is super committed to her music these days. Whenever she's not flirting up a storm with wifey she's either practising music or hanging with her Musos club at the Solar Lounge. Look at that violin-maestro-face!
Art: how hard can it be? *drives everyone out of lounge*
At least Aphrodite is decent-ish at guitar 0o
Athena: club meeting over!! I love her but Art is SO BAD at the music.
She escapes to the cool mansion lot in Windenberg to busk by the maze. Art follows her there, apparently, as she is seen sprinting around the maze. Athena fails to make any money - bad busking location, apparently.
Get Together has surprised me with how much I like it. It really, significantly ramps up the social aspect of the game for Sims, and when Apollo phones Athena and asks her to visit, how can I have her say anything but yes? This expansion is excellent for legacy purposes since it can be much too easy in a legacy to get into a rut of having your Sims do nothing but work and skill at home.
Unfortunately Apollo's son, Aron, is at school and she has to leave for work before he comes home, so she doesn't get to meet him. Note to self - invite Apollo and fam over. Or drop by, something. I gotta meet that kid!
Kali has her homework club over pretty much every school day, to Shiva's chagrin.
But at least he's happy when Auntie Art drops by to meet him.
Artemis: so you're the weird one, huh?
Shiva: weird in a cool way, though.
Ophelia: oh Art, hi. Are you staying? Good, you can babysit. I'm going out for a drink.
Art: wait, what...?
Ophelia: *already in a taxi* Suckkkker
Ophelia: Kiara! Thanks for inviting me out, sis. I dumped the kids with Artemis, my sister in law.
Kiara: Damon's home with Anthony.
Ophelia: who the hell is Anthony?
Kiara: ...your nephew you still haven't met.
Ophelia: christ, another one? I haven't met Apollo's kid yet either.
So yeah, that makes for two more 'A' names from the Legend extended family, both game generated. I know I went with an 'A' Greek Gods and Goddesses theme for Gen 2 but I didn't need everyone else to follow suit!
Ophelia is such a good sister. She promptly ditches Kiara in favour of making friends with pink hair.
Ophelia: what? Kiara is already my friend, she's useless for aspiration purposes.
See, Ophelia, this is why you can't KEEP friends once you've made them. Smh.
Bars were always Ophelia's scene more than Athena's. While her wife is out on the town she's at home crying over both of her dead parents. Again. This is so annoying, she mourns them both on the daily and gets sad about it ALL THE DAMN TIME. They're not even really gone, you fruit loop!
Your mother is right inside cleaning your shower!
Gaia: tfw your daughter's house is so gross you have to come back from beyond the grave to clean it.
Most of the time you just break shit, Gaia, this seems like fair recompense. More ghostly housework, please!
Athena goes to visit Aphrodite to soothe her constantly sad heart. Damn idiot Sim. Her and Aphrodite are much closer since forming their music club.
Kali really is a dedicated little nerd. I had to buy the science table to progress her aspiration and once I did she practically lived at that thing. The first time this sparks-flying thing happened I nearly died of fright, I thought she'd caught herself (and her dead granny's room) on fire.
Gaia: please don't call me granny, I'm too cool for that. *breakdances*
I then nearly died laughing, Gaia was really going for it. If she wasn't already dead I'd be concerned about broken hips.
Athena: and this is Kali when she was a baby...and this one is Shiva the first time he played on the monkey bars...
Awwww, precious! My heart! My feels!
Athena: *gross sobbing* I miss you so much Mom!
GODDAMN IT.
