The Legend Legacy 2.4: Shotgun Wedding

avaricesims Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! In the last chapter we said goodbye to legacy founder Gaia, and hello to the first hint of Generation 3. This chapter, you'll not be surprised that Athena and Ophelia want to make their partnership official. While not all Sims, even legacy couples, need to marry, with Athena's soulmate aspiration she was always going to insist on marriage to Ophelia.
These are the people who they invited to celebrate with them, plus random old lady in green who I honestly haven't a clue who she is. Art and Aldo, Apollo, Aphrodite and J all join them to celebrate their big day. J was invited as the last remaining family friend - I'm guessing because he is a super active dudebro he outlived the rest of the gang with his superior health.
Even pregnant I think Athena looks beautiful in her wedding dress. Her boobs are enormous.
The wedding venue I downloaded had two options, an indoor and an outdoor. I chose the medieval themed, pink, romantic indoor chapel for Athena and Ophelia.
And let the cuteness begin! The indoor chapel is standing room only, which is fine with me because Sim guests never sit on chairs during weddings anyway. They are not helpful for the photos.
So goddamn romantic amirite.
Actually though. Cuteness overload.
Exchanging rings.
And you may kiss the bride!
Artemis: congratulations, sis.
I made a few alterations to the downloaded venue so that the drinks and food challenges could be met.
Which is why all the guests crowd in downstairs in this weird little basement kitchen to eat the wedding cake. It works though, and Athena and Ophelia achieve gold for their wedding.
At which point J decides he's enjoyed a final great party and now is a good time to depart the mortal coil. It's crowded enough down here, J!
Which is how Ophelia and Athena end up having the Grim Reaper as their bonus wedding guest. At least it made things memorable I guess!
Athena: I wish you were at my wedding, Mum and Dad. Though J died there...and he probably would have flirted with Mum and gotten punched by Dad...and I'm not sure how the Reaper would have gone with all of that. So maybe it's a good thing you weren't.
Back home that evening Ophelia takes it upon herself to cook a wedding night dinner for her beloved and promptly sets herself on fire. Ophelia! Remember our salads only rule!
Athena has to come to her rescue and fortunately she succeeds.
Athena: jesus christ on a cracker, Ophelia. I know I'm pregnant but I wanted at least a couple of choices for heir before either of us depart for the afterlife. Also, considering I have the soulmate aspiration, I feel like my wife dying on our wedding night would be a really bad thing.
Ophelia: I know :(
Ophelia: and then she extinguished the fire and saved my life! On our wedding night even! Isn't that the most romantic thing you ever heard? And she was so mad that I almost died so now I know for sure she loves me like crazy. Great huh?
Art: .... did...did you set yourself on fire on purpose?!
Ophelia: ....no. Of course not.
Artemis: ...and so long story short your wife might be a bit crazy so, just, don't piss her off okay?
Athena: ....right. Okay. Jesus.
As life returns to a new normal after the wedding and near death experience, Athena is getting bigger and bigger and Ophelia is progressing nicely in her Business career. Also she looks goddamn fantastic in office attire.
Athena spends a lot of her pregnancy playing the violin and working on her skills, and actually sounds passably okay by this point.
When she's not hurling her guts up of course. She has quite a trying pregnancy.
Who the hell baked those brownies, Athena? Remember the no cooking until there's at least one baby rule??
Athena: shut up I was craving chocolate.
By the way, if you were wondering why Athena spent most of her pregnancy in her PJs, this is why. That fabulous sparkly two piece looks fucking awful while she's pregnant omg. Athena that is the WORST look.
Athena: uh oh...
Athena: are you absolutely, 100% sure I have to have a home birth?
Yes I am, Athena. I don't want to give the game any encouragement for a third consecutive set of legacy twins. Although, Zoe Patel managed to have a single with Ophelia while I was playing that household so I think Gaia's two sets of twins was just luck/her outrageous fertility.
Don't worry though, I kept Ophelia home from work to be your birthing partner.
Ophelia: okay baby, time to come out so wifey can have her figure back.
Ophelia: is that better?
Athena: a baby is trying to come out of my hoohaa so no, not really.
Athena: I really think doctors would have been a good idea!
Athena: omfg look at this thing
Athena: it's quite cute, actually.
Ophelia: omg it totally is. I mean she...we should probably name her, babe.
So, meet Kali Legend! This generation's children will be named for Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Kali is a ferocious form of the Divine Mother and the Goddess of Time.
And we finish with a quick room makeover - the first teenage bedroom being converted into a combined nursery and child's bedroom. For the first time in this legacy the baby has its own room and won't cause her parents utter misery by waking them up every five minutes!
And that brings us to the end of this chapter. A beautiful wedding and a beautiful baby kick off Athena and Ophelia's adult life. Will Athena insist Ophelia carries their next child? Will Kali grow up super cute or somehow defy her parent's great genetics and be fugly?
