Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! In the last chapter the Legend family started looking a bit different, with the first teenagers  of the legacy coming along. Their house, though improved, is still small for such a big family (though they are making impressive inroads into saving for their next house). How is the family going as they grow and change?

Well, they're not the only ones growing and changing for a start! Aldo, Artemis' childhood friend, has also grown up and has a sweeeeeet mohawk. Green...like Gaia's hair, which endears him to me to be honest.

He's around at the Legend household quite often, usually to see Artemis.

I think he may have a budding crush on my lovely Art, but who wouldn't. These two would be such a cool couple - both funky, a bit alternative, independent free spirits. So far I haven't done anything to encourage them but we'll see in the future :)

Mind you, Aldo is at least as fond of the computer as he is of Artemis.

Gavin, meanwhile, has progressed far enough in his career to pick the Author branch. As the only employed Sim in the household he's the only one I can channel any career work into and he's progressing nicely as a result. He keeps getting a tense moodlet from wanting a vacation but I am a mean slave driver and give him no time off. Sorry Gav!

Gaia, meanwhile, continues to live the life of Riley and spends her days socialising and swanning about around town. She visits the French cafe with her friends (I am super tempted to get Outdoor Living and Dine Out, by the way, both of which would add a lot to my gameplay - more, I think, than Get Together) and she FINALLY gets her first Sugar Skull courtesy of Kathy! At last, progress!

Ophelia continues to visit most days after school, like Aldo. She hangs with all four of the Legend children but is definitely closest to Athena. In fact, Athena manages to score Ophelia as her BFF, thus progressing her Social Butterfly aspiration!

Meanwhile, everything. in. this. damn. house. is. always. broken.

And Gavin, the family handy man, is often like this from working so hard on his writing and career.

Which leads to an awful lot more of this. The already fraught bathroom situation is further compromised by broken plumbing, and the Legend family only narrowly avoid the first bathroom accidents of the legacy by utilising school and work facilities. I splash out on some upgrades to lessen the breakages, but they are still stuck with only one bathroom. The house is too small to justify adding a second.

Somewhere amidst the chaos of day to day life, Gaia and Gavin continue to find moments together. They are a sweet and affectionate couple even now, with four children running riot around them.

I decide they really deserve a bedroom makeover to honour their ongoing love and commitment for each other. The roses and champagne were earned on their various dates, and they get a swanky upgrade to their bed. It's not expensive or lavish but I think it looks soft and comfortable.

Sometimes I get a chance to focus on one family member's aspirations for a while. Apollo is knuckling down and getting creative, and manages to unlock four of the five drawings on the art table. He also takes up the violin, torturing the rest of his family in the process.

Aphrodite's brand new Party Animal aspiration insists she meets loads of new people. She greets them well enough, even inviting this random lady into the house, before generally turning nasty.

Aphrodite: what are you doing in my house?!
Random Lady: you asked me in!
Aphrodite: that doesn't sound right. Get out!

In fact Aphrodite needs to meet so many new people that I decide an afternoon out is in order, and since she's going she might as well take her sister Athena, and Athena's bestie Ophelia, with her. I think her face makes it VERY clear what she thinks of being roped into babysitting duties - especially since her and Athena still have a difficult time getting along.

Athena couldn't care less about her sister's disdain, though. She has a fantastic time with Ophelia.

Aphrodite manages to meet all the Sims she needed to for the first tier of her aspiration, and in the process made enemies of most of them. Who should we spot on our way out of the park, though, except Mitchell Kalani - Gavin's old roommate! Who is now an elder, and looking thoroughly fed up with it. Life is rolling along for the Sims in the neighbourhood, that's for sure.

Back home, Aphrodite and Athena's relationship hasn't thawed at all.

And the Legend's soon have another visitor - J, also now an elder! It's  stark reminder that Gaia and Gavin will soon be joining their friends in the last stages of their lives.

J. I know that look. STOP FLIRTING WITH GAIA. You're ancient, dude, move on!
Amazingly though, for the first time in her life, Gaia rejects his advances. I can't tell if it's because she's more in love with Gavin than ever, or if she's just super shallow and not into being hit on by a grey oldie.

Of course Gavin is there to witness J making moves on his wife yet again and even though Gaia tells him to quit it, Gavin is angry again. It's amazing he and J have a relationship after all this!

Once he gets the message from Gaia J does spend some time getting to know her daughters. He seems particularly taken with Artemis - Gavin's secret favourite. J, hit on her and I think Gavin might actually murder you.

To get her out of the house before J can really upset the apple cart, I send her and Athena down to the Desert Lounge bar for some aspiration work. Artemis sets to work mixing drinks and soon manages to complete the ten she needs - all of them Wrenches. For some reason this lot never order anything else.

Athena makes a half-hearted effort to get to know some adults - she needs two new adult friends for her Social Butterfly aspiration - but it's futile. The evil trait she manages to keep so under wraps for Ophelia keeps rearing its ugly head, and she prefers to taunt and tease and delight in the misery of others over making friends.

And, while we're there, two more old friends show themselves to be exactly that - OLD friends. Zoe and Dina are both elders now. I must say Zoe carries it better, poor Dina looks awful.

The club is a reminder that Gaia and Gavin are overdue for a visit to Zoe and Dina, so they swing by to catch up and meet Zoe's younger daughter.

They stay long enough for the girls to return from school. This is Kiara Patel, who like Gaia Loves the Outdoors. I don't know what has Ophelia in such a mood but she looks dangerous!

Gaia introduces herself to her younger goddaughter and the two hit it off at once. Her and Gavin have to rush home though...

Gaia has a cake she needs to bake...

Because Aphrodite, the party animal that she is, has planned a quiet family party for Gavin.

Gaia's skills are definitely improving, Gavin's cake looks fabulous.

And soon they're all shouting and cheering...

Because it is Gavin's turn to join his friends in the age of grey hair, wrinkles, and aching old bones.

Although...Gavin is a silver fox! He's genuinely the best looking elder I've seen in this game. Good for him, I hope he enjoys his twilight years :)

And that brings us to the end of this chapter. More and more, the Legends are moving in their own directions, setting the course for their individual lives. There's still a lot of family joy and warmth, though, for Gaia to bask in. Gavin has taken the final major step in his personal journey. Will he be around long enough to see who is chosen as heir? I sure hope so! Tune in next time to find out.
