Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! In the last chapter I had to save Balor from the social worker, Mabon and Morrigan finished their babyhood in a closet then became cute toddlers, and Bernard and Minerva both continued to make good progress in their careers.

Gwydion opens this chapter by continuing to chip away at his creative aspiration.

He's going to need to move his playing out of that bedroom, though, because younger brother Balor is aging up! His birthday was on Harvestfest, so attended by a creepy semicircle of gnomes, as well as his mostly naked Dad. He received enough points for Happy Toddler and, like Gwydion, didn't receive the trait, which led to googling and a finding that the toddler traits are broken, or have been, and remain so for me by the looks of it. Luckily I have MCCC so I gave both Balor and Gwydion the traits they earned manually.

Balor grew up to remain fond of orange, and also develop lactose intolerance like his aunt Luna. He immediately started scoffing his lactose-filled birthday cake as his first action after aging up and then farted a symphony for hours. Bernard will have to try to cook lactose free meals and I don't think Gwydion will get that cow I was considering. He wants to be a social butterfly.

Photographic evidence of the aftermath of the birthday cake. Sad Balor with a sore stomach.

I keep accidentally dressing all my Sims to aesthetically match my fave part of the kitchen. Check out Gwydion's lovely soft cosy looking jumper in colours I am OBSESSED with.

In fact the house has been largely renovated now, with just a few rooms still to go. I love this corner of the lounge, ft. cute Mabon.

Bernard and Minerva decided to stay in the bedroom Minerva grew up in, since it was renovated in her colours already. And yes, I took this picture as another example of a Sim getting scared by a ghost haunting an object while another ghost is clearly visible in the same room and apparently not scary at all, because this will never not amuse me.

Speaking of scared, Balor's entire childhood was haunted by the monster. He repeatedly tried to talk to it and only succeeded after six or seven disturbed nights. Poor kid.

Meanwhile, Minerva started her fourth labour at home. When not sent to the hospital she tends to make a beeline for the pool float when in labour, so when it's cold I have to send her to the bath instead, so she doesn't freeze to death.

And here she is! Another girl (the second, after Morrigan), and a single (yay! I love it when they have twins but not when they have twins all the time). Her name is Ceridwen, after an enchantress in Welsh medieval legend. Also I fixed up the baby nursery, now a bit larger with three of the cute cribs from the spellcaster pack.

Then it was time for a hike. Kaori used the opportunity to catch up with the two spares of generation 7, Flora and Luna, and brought Weylin along for a walk too.

This yielded none of the desired wildlife attacks, so Kaori told them about the wildlife that COULD have attacked them instead.

Then they headed to the snowy neighbourhood for a different hike, and promptly all tried to freeze to death. I had to change their outfits with MCCC. A few of Kaori's friends came along too, and Weylin did not die but he did do this scary collapse snooze thing.

Still no wildlife but they did get to the lookout right on sunset. How stunning is this?

Back home, Gwydion and Mabon shared the dollhouse.

And once she returned, Kaori was very happy with herself for painting this questionable masterpiece some idiot bought for $4000.

Then, because Balor has the social aspiration, it was park time for the kids. He made a start on befriending random adults and teens, in the hope the latter would age up in time to count.

Gwydion made the most of the piano left out for weddings since he has the creative aspiration.

Not too long after that, it was time for Bernard's adult birthday. He's now much older than Minerva, since pregnancy freezes aging, and the gap is only going to widen if they have more kids after Ceridwen, like I initially planned. He was also promoted to line cook right before this. Go Bernard!

Speaking of Ceridwen, it was also her birthday! She grew up to be a fussy toddler (oh joy) and Mabor remains the only one of the kids to inherit Bernard's blue eyes so far.

Totally unrelated, when Sims are scared they'll do the scared run during any other actions they're completing, including cleaning up. This both made me laugh and also made the clean up, which in this three story enormous mansion can take forever, go a lot quicker.

I can't remember if this was Gwydion or Balor greeting Flora on the porch in a sausage costume, but this was about all the Legends did for Spooky Day this time around.

Honestly, with all our ghosts and Bernard being hot-tempered I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. Luckily it's a quick and easy fix.

Weylin also came down sick after his big hiking day. Happily I stocked up on wellness treats the last time so he skips the trip to the vet.

And Morrigan, more than any of the other toddlers, still insists on going downstairs to eat a lot. The lounge pictured here is on the ground floor, down a long hallway and stairs from the nursery, and she persists in coming down here with her slow, slow toddler movement. Does mean she's available for Balor to snuggle though. One of his siblings will be his BFF - I just haven't decided which yet.

Gwydion, meanwhile, finished his aspiration! He gets the creatively gifted trait. I switched him to whiz kid but I rarely bother working on second aspirations, and with so many kids in the house I doubt that's going to change this generation.

Kaori continues to be MVG (most valuable grandmother), taking plenty of time to help out Mabon and Morrigan, as well as her older grandsons.

She also started Ceridwen's education, though whether it was appreciated is uncertain.

Of course, she's completely indispensable, so she also gets a potion of youth when the warning comes about her last few days. It means she's sticking around far longer than the heiress, Whaitiri, but she was always far more domestic than her wife and she's also pretty close to finishing her aspiration.

More hikes it is!

Unfortunately, while she saw no fewer than four clusters of forest spirits, she saw no wildlife, so I sent her back to the bamboo forest, where she'd had more success in the past.

And sure enough, she shrugged off this giant horror with a casual eye roll. She's so much cooler than I would be. Also, this is obviously the centipede, so idk what on earth the green cell things she dealt with earlier actually are.
Wildlife attacks handled, all that was left was snowboarding in inclement weather.

That was for another day though. First, Minerva and Gwydion enjoying a game of chess. This room also got a makeover; it's the only downstairs bedroom, and is where the previous heir/spouse relocates when the next generation takes over, so it's now Kaori's room.

After chess there was another Winterfest to celebrate, so the tree came out of storage.

Then it burnt down. Oops.

Father Winter just had to stack the presents by the fireplace. Ah well. New tree for next year!

Everyone was too busy to take Weylin for a walk so someone sent him hunting around this time, and he came back with the last element the Legends needed for the collection!

I guess Winterfest brings out the romance in Bernard. I recognise that look he's giving Minerva...and the one she's giving him back...

Which inevitably leads to this! Minerva is pregnant again, for the last time I've decided, regardless of what she ends up having. This will be child number six, which I originally set as the aim for this generation.

Mabon finishes out his toddlerhood with a little doggy imitation time. Unsurprisingly, neither he nor Morrigan maxed their skills, though they did get all of them to level 3.

Bernard handles both the baking of a honey cake and the twin's birthdays. First Morrigan, the elder twin, then Mabon.

Morrigan looks to be the spitting image of her mother. Minerva looked very similar at this age! She rolled the artistic prodigy aspiration and the creative trait; your girl loves consistency.

Mabon, meanwhile, rolls the social aspiration and takes after his grandmother Whaitiri in becoming squeamish. He's definitely not a face clone of Morrigan and it will be interesting to see how he looks when he grows up. His blue eyes are very striking with his skin tone, which comes from Minerva.

Not to be left out, Weylin also treks out to the edge of the lot to have a birthday, becoming an elder dog.

Finally, we'll end this chapter with a triumphant shot of Kaori finishing the Extreme Sports Enthusiast aspiration! Because I am kind of rubbish at this game and because the RNG determines everyone's first aspirations (with limited exceptions), it's only the tenth aspiration the Legends have finished, but I'm stoked to tick this one off. Because only icy conditions and thundersnow count as "inclement" weather I had to cheat icy conditions in the end, but this is a known problem with this aspiration and I don't feel bad about it. She still went snowboarding in freezing cold heavy snow, which I think should count.

And that brings us to the end of the chapter! Will a household of at least ten Sims drive me mad (I can't believe I had twelve in the fourth generation)? Will I finish any other adult aspirations, ever? Will Bernard and Minerva discover the wonders of contraception? Tune in next time to find out!
