Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! In the last chapter the family ghosts were once again tied down to the lot so they can never leave, Minerva grew up, moved in her boyfriend Bernard, and was named heiress, the first generation 8 baby arrived, and Minerva and Bernard got married before quickly conceiving the next baby. A busy time all around! We're now officially in Generation 7, with Minerva taking over the reins from Whaitiri, as this legacy limps towards the finish a full six YEARS after it was started. My god I'm slow.

Let's open with Bernard, despite having a temper on him, settling rather naturally into the role of father and playing with Gwydion.

The wholesome family fun is somewhat ruined by Athena destroying the doll house right in front of the poor kid though.
Athena: that'll teach you for binding me here instead of letting me rest in freaking peace.

Luna, meanwhile, follows in distant ancestor Kali's footsteps and becomes a scientist. She looks rather cute in her lab coat, I think.

After work she meets Christopher out by the river behind the house.

Where he pops the question!

Luna, enamoured with her handsome boyfriend, of course says yes.

Then she and Christopher take $20,000 from the family funds and make arrangements to move out and start their lives together outside of the main legacy house. Christopher has that stupid eyeball ring on - I must have missed it during his makeover. Sims 4 random dressing 1, me 0.

Given Luna's scientist career choice, I chose Oasis Springs for her and Christopher to move to, following in the footsteps of Artemis (generation 2) and Bastet (generation 5) before her. Looking around for a suitable house, I noticed there was a child living by himself and moved them in out of curiosity. When they arrived he was sad from a death, so I'm head-canoning that his parent(s) had recently died, leaving him alone. He's also a vampire so maybe he ate them???

His name is Israel, and Luna and Christopher promptly adopted him as a care dependent, and renovated the small house so it had a child's bedroom. Our first adopted Legend kid! And with that Luna and Christopher are free to live their lives as they see fit, without further interference from me (though they'd better have some more kids!)

Whaitiri and Kaori celebrate the successful raising of their youngest to adulthood with a little self-congratulatory flirting.

Not long after that Flora drops around to visit and Whai spontaneously hugs her. Whaitiri is not always nice to her daughters - her eccentric trait can make her mean - so this was sweet to see.

Perhaps she knew her time was nearly up and she'd better leave her family with some warm final memories. Whaitiri died that night, and hers was also the last death of the generation 7 kids (Rehua and Kui died a long time ago), so it really was the end of an era, given this chapter is also Minerva's first as heiress.

Farewell Whaitiri. You were an...interesting...heiress. Insane and tech-obsessed, and probably too cool for all of us. I enjoyed having green hair in the family again, and your choice of Kaori, dumb but hardworking, as spouse was excellent, she has been and continues to be a favourite. Hope to see you back on the computer soon.

Tragically, the only present to actually witness her death is her grandson Gwydion, who loses his shit after seeing his grandmother dragged away by the Grim Reaper. As you would.

Whaitiri is relocated to the family graveyard and has the customary sunflowers planted over her grave.

Kaori is devastated, believe it or not. I know this picture doesn't really convey devastation so much as casual relaxation, but I promise she was really sad.

Kaori: hi Max. Could you give my wife my love and tell her to come haunt us soon?
Max: sure, but why are you wearing a Christmas sweater? It's nowhere near Winterfest.
Kaori: the controller hasn't taken them off us and it drives her wild when we wear them without permission, it's great fun.

Bernard, who didn't know Whaitiri well, isn't as affected by her loss and nets himself a promotion. Nice.

His wife's second pregnancy started showing while he was at work.

Following Whaitiri's death, Kaori phones her boss and retires from the police force. I don't normally let my elder Sims retire - they usually work until they day they expire, probably from stress - but Kaori has been carrying this household on her shoulders for a long time and was making little to no progress in her job unless I went with her, which I was bored of doing. Since this is going to be the generation with the most kids, I figured having one grandparent around would be handy.

And sure enough, Kaori takes over the bulk of the care of her grandson almost immediately.

There is also time for some fishing though; I thought a new hobby would be nice for her, and the Legend's haven't had anyone providing fresh fish in a while.

Minerva spent her free time during her second pregnancy getting the garden back up to snuff. It remains an essential earner for the Legends, and I'm already anticipating the 5+ generation 8 kids that will need funds to move out one day. Money money money! Plus, Minerva has the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration.

Because there's not going to be enough chaos already, Minerva also adds a new puppy to the family. She jogs a lot and wanted a companion to go with her.

So meet Weylin, the greyhound! Weylin is a Celtic name meaning Son of the Wolf, which seemed appropriate for a dog of the Celtic generation.

Weylin gets a giant food bowl. Ghost, who in life only had a small food bowl, is not impressed.

Naturally, even though Weylin is Minerva's dog, Kaori is soon roped into puppy care. You're the best, Kaori.

I was a little worried about Bernard at first. As a reminder, his traits are hot-heated, unflirty, and outgoing, and I wasn't sure he'd fit in well. Turns out, his unflirtiness makes him solidly committed to the woman he did manage to woo, and his outgoing nature seems to counteract his temper. He makes friends easily and is soon getting along with Flora on her regular visits.
Also I really love the Legend's made-over entranceway and hallway.

Someone's temper who got the better of them, on the other hand...
I moved the dollhouse into one of the kid's bedrooms later and that reduced these incidents from angry ghosts.

Anyway, sometimes they make up for it. Penny was embarrassed she broke the toilet and promptly repaired it.

Other ghost shenanigans include Kahu, Kui's old dog, scoffing the pancakes put out for Gwydion.

As well as Mika, Kui's OTHER old dog, being horrified that there is a toddler in the house.

Gwydion is just so cute she comes around, though.

See? Cute. It's nice Minerva's had a boy after last generation's three girls.

Back to our living dog, Weylin grew up into a handsome long boi, and received a bow tie.

Gwydion thinks he's pretty snazzy.

Bernard also managed another promotion, and is now a caterer.

Minerva: hey Luna, you should come over and get to know your nephew a bit now that he's older. We'll come visit you and meet Israel in the next chapter.

Kaori is there to greet her youngest daughter when she visits...

And give her a key so she can swing by whenever she wants.

Awww, cute auntie/nephew moment!

Luna roped into watching Gwydion, a very pregnant Minerva enjoys a summer afternoon in the pool.

Which turned out to be a lovely relaxing preparation for a home birth!

Welcome baby Balor! Our second boy of the generation. Balor is named after a malevolent one-eyed giant of Irish mythology, who seems to be a sort of Celtic version of the Greek cyclops.
Minerva celebrates the birth of her second child by immediately going jogging with Weylin, now that she's allowed to do such strenuous and risky activity again.

She'd better make the most of it, because Bernard has plans!
Bernard: hey, let's make more babies?
Both of them are thoroughly enjoying being parents, actually. While Kaori helps a lot, Minerva and Bernard don't shirk their responsibility to Gwydion's upbringing either.

Kaori also continues to be domestic goddess extraordinaire, and when not painting to add some funds to the house or fishing to stock the fridge, helps out with Weylin, who is somehow hairy despite being a greyhound.

Cutie <3 Kaori didn't get to work on her aspiration this chapter, so I'll have to make up for that in the next one.

Bernard is hot and bootylicious and he knows it, spending 90% of his time unashamedly in his boxers.

I don't think Minerva minds.

It's probably not surprising that she comes home shortly afterwards with both a promotion (low orbit specialist) and a third pregnancy showing.

Before we wrap up this chapter, let's have another brief aside for more ghost shenanigans. They've really been active this chapter. I guess they're resigning themselves to staying trapped on the legacy lot for their afterlives.
Here's Max booking it on the water slide.

In fact he spends the whole night sliding, while Cadence spends the whole night adding to the backyard collection of destress concoctions that I do not need or want, despite me getting rid of the NAP that apparently causes this. The ghosts got a taste of it when the NAP was active and never gave it up. I have given up trying to get rid of them. They are just slowly taking over the yard and I assume one day the entire lot, and then the world.

Athena meets her eighth generation descendent shortly before he makes it to toddlerhood, or old enough to decide how he feels about being cuddled by a ghost in a stupid hat. She and Loki are embodied reminders that I started this legacy before Seasons came out, so their ghosts got randomised hot weather outfits that make me eternally sad/distressed.

Angelic Balor is very cute. He has two eyes, unlike his namesake, but neither are blue like his father's, big sad.

We'll finish this chapter with a beyond the grave visit from Whaitiri! Who made a beeline for her computer, while Maui's ghost was embarrassed to be around living doggo Weylin. It's been chaotic ghosts all around. Will Bernard ever pass his eyes onto his offspring? Is he aware that there's a point for having ten children in a single generation in a legacy, and that while I'm not counting points any more I WILL use this as an excuse to keep trying for blue eyes? Will the game crash due to an excess of destress concoctions first? Tune in next time to find out!
