Chapter 7.5: Festival Season
Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! In the last chapter I missed a bunch of birthdays in between the Legends heading out to various festivals and events. The final generation eight babies were born - another set of twins, bringing Bernard and Minerva's total number of children to seven, the first set of twins became very nice-looking teenagers, and we said farewell to Weylin the greyhound. Phew.

We open this chapter with a visit to Geekcon. Morrigan is more interested in muscly man buns than videogames, let's be honest.
Though she does give the gaming rigs a go.

It was Flora that invited the family along again; she does this a lot, and amusingly is also dressed in, as a costume, the uniform her sister Minerva will actually wear for work after a promotion later in the chapter.

Interestingly she is spotted canoodling with this blond man during the event. If you remember, Flora was obsessed with her high school boyfriend Dorian, and on moving out to university, he went with her and they were living together. I guess the relationship didn't last!

Back home, Brigid and Miach's birthdays have rolled around rapidly, and a slightly stinky Minerva in astronaut gear is responsible for the celebration.

Oh my God Brigid, what has the random outfit generator done to you?!

Thankfully she is much cuter once the decision to dress her in a shower cap is firmly reversed. Brigid rolled perfectionist for her first trait, and wants to be a Rambunctious Scamp.

Her brother, Miach, is also rather a cutie, and rolled neat, so they're a pair of very tidy, careful kids. Like his sister, he wants to be a Rambunctious Scamp. Brigid and Miach look to have both inherited Minerva's body type - they are string beans - along with Morrigan, with the rest taking after Bernard in that department, including the bubble booty!

Shortly after his youngest children had their birthdays, Bernard, as ever only in his boxers, finished the Master Mixologist aspiration! I gave him Master Chef next since he's already a pretty handy cook, having taken over most of this responsibility from Kaori.

It was also time to do some shifting of bedrooms, and some renovating to go with it. Gwydion and Balor, the two oldest boys, were initially given these cool orange bunks and this huge room to share. Gwydion refused to sleep on the top bunk though, so it was later switched out for two double beds, as the room really is enormous.

This was the previously pink room occupied by Flora during her teenage years, made over into red, black and white glam for Morrigan.

While this was the previously unrenovated room given a zen oasis feel for Mabon. The three younger kids, Ceridwen, Brigid and Miach, remained in the bright blue and purple kids room you've already seen a lot.

The downstairs room for Kaori is a favourite place for Morrigan to practice her acting.

Also focused on skilling is Minerva, who needs to learn about rockets for her astronaut career. Kaori, in the background making a drink, needs a child to max a skill for Successful Lineage, so is waiting on Minerva to do so, probably fitness. But first - rockets.

We might not see it much, but she's also a pretty good and involved Mum, with good relationships with all her kids. Though they go to Kaori for advice most often, she's their second preference.

Neith, Generation 5 heiress, is the latest ghost to drop in and chat with the current household head (in this case Kaori, the spouse, outliving heiress Whaitiri by many years). She doesn't seem pleased with the state of things, if her embarrassed mood is anything to go by.

But I think the Legends are doing great and am very pleased with the current two generations, so I am amused and gratified to discover ghosts can be attacked by bees.

Speaking of Whaitiri, she seems to love her low pressure ghost life, and invites Minerva to the Spice Festival. Gwydion joins her and invites his current romantic interest, Bailee, along too.

This rather sweet couple spend the evening canoodling under the warm festival lights.

Then, after a quick game of basketball, Bailee agrees to be Gwydion's girlfriend!

Around the same time Brigid and Miach make for a park to tick off the first stage of Rambunctious Scamp.

And Mabon runs across Jewel again, the alien girl he met when they were both kids. Now a teenager with striking orangey hair to go with her skin, she's upset about something and Mabon takes the opportunity to comfort her.

Not to be outdone by his older brother, Mabon then invites Jewel to join him at the Bluffs, where they immediately spot Windenberg's famous sea monster.

He surprises Jewel with a kiss...

And they spend a very enjoyable afternoon together, at the end of which Jewel also agrees to be his girlfriend!
'
Mabon celebrates this in the weirdest way possible, hanging out the front of the mansion in his robe, doing his homework and waiting for people to wander by so he can introduce himself for Friend of the World.
Mabon: hey random guy, I have a hot alien girlfriend.
Random guy: sir are you okay

At this point, after I received about 500 warnings of how old these birds now were, Grim finally came for Albert the rooster. He didn't seem very happy at having to do so on the very edge of the back of the lot, which might be why Camelot, Guinevere, and Morgan remain alive but constantly sending me warnings about their age. I'm guessing Grim is putting off the long trek to come fetch them after how long it took him to deal with Albert.

Hey look I remembered a birthday! Good, since Minerva is the heiress and all. As Gwydion stomped off in a mood behind her, she joined her husband at long last in true adulthood, after her five pregnancies bought her many extra years of life. Which I don't think is how it works at all in the real world, where pregnancy is if anything a brutal toll on the body.

Both proved their extremely real adult credentials by locking in further promotions - Bernard to Juice Boss and Minerva to Sheriff of the Stars.

And family life proceeded apace. Morrigan was making good progress at building some acting skill, and is also a solid A student. Brigid, our perfectionist, also shot to and A at grade school pretty fast, though Miach wasn't far behind. The chickens are loading the fridge with eggs so Bernard makes nothing but eggs and toast for breakfast these days.

Ceridwen made friends with a very cool-looking teenager whose name I've forgotten.

And Minerva and Bernard talked about their relationship fears.
Minerva: I just feel I would be happier if you wore pants from time to time.
Bernard: why can't you accept me for the mostly-naked person I really am?

Mabon continued to introduce himself to people for his aspiration, and started to wrap his head around the idea of potential heirship. Because I made him do this I can just FEEL the Hates Children trait lurking in his future.

And Kaori actually met and made friends with Annabelle, who is Bernard's sister. She kept dropping by the legacy house, presumably to see Bernard, but he was always busy so retiree Kaori was dispatched to bring her into the family fold.

The boys, minus Balor, hanging out. You can really see Mabon and Gwydion's different personalities in their dress sense here!

Ceridwen was still chipping away at her Whiz Kid aspiration, and was only one point off maxing her mental skill, when...

She stepped away from the experiment table, sparkled, and aged up, making that two out of two birthdays for this poor middle kid that I managed to miss. Gosh darn! She looks even more like Minerva than Morrigan does, and has a very adorable squishy round face. I think she's very pretty and loved this hair on her. Ceridwen added clumsy to her cheerful trait, and rolled the Good Vampire aspiration, so it looks like we're adding another vampire to the family.

Though, remembering that I can't fix dark forms in the limited version of MCCC CAS you have to stick with when you have more than 8 Sims in the house, Ceridwen's vampire change will have to wait until there's two fewer Sims in the house. That will be when Gwydion moves out and either Balor also moves out or Kaori passes away, so for now she's restricted to researching vampires online and reading about them. I'm not having a repeat of Hathor's stuck-in-dark-form shenanigans from Generation 5.
In joining the teenagers of the house, Ceridwen got to experience the goofiness of her older sister Morrigan...

And also an attempted relationship repair from Mabon, with whom she still shared a negative sentiment from childhood. I have no idea what happened, but these two have disliked each other for most of their lives. It will be interesting to see if that changes!

Minerva also finished her rocket ship, which now sits out the front of the Legend mansion, as if this house wasn't ostentatious enough already. She's now working on upgrading it so it doesn't kill her when she tries taking it to space.

Speaking of death, poor Farim, the maid we've had since before many of these kids were born, who on his first shift ever for the Legends was struck by lightning, has a second near-death experience while working for them when he catches on fire due to dodgy washing machines. Mabon is the one to rescue him, fortunately. He's friends with most of the family members and would be sadly missed!

We'll end this chapter with a final festival, Humour and Hijinks, once again coordinated by Flora who seems to use these kinds of gatherings as the primary way to stay in touch with family. Kaori decides to attend in her togs, which calls to mind an extremely famous kiwi advertisement from over ten years ago, asking when do togs become undies? The answer is when out of sight of the water, so Kaori is functionally in her underwear right now. Here's the ad if anyone is curious!

The usual festival fun is had - sadly, no teenage boys are spotted for Morrigan though.

The family win the comedy competition thing and all get fireworks and microphones to sell, to help fun the eventual moving out of six of the kids.
And that brings us to the end of the chapter! How on earth am I going to pick an heir? I struggle every time and with seven to choose from it's going to be impossible! Will Morrigan find herself an interesting boyfriend to help her cause? Will Ceridwen have time to become a vampire before she has to move out? Will the twins roll terrible traits for their teenage birthdays? Tune in next time to find out!
