Chapter 7.4: Got Cake?
Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! In the last chapter Kaori finished Extreme Sport's Enthusiast, becoming the first Sim to finish an aspiration since Kui (Whaitiri's sister). The twins grew up, Ceridwen became a toddler, and Minerva fell pregnant for the fifth and final time.

With so many Sims in the house, this was bound to happen eventually. I missed Gwydion's teen birthday! He went into one of the few unrenovated rooms to have it.

While handsome enough, Gwydion did grow up to have a rather square face and puffy cheeks. He looks a little like Apollo, from way back in Generation 2, although thankfully he was spared the tiny eyes. Gwydion rolled Freegan for his second trait, adding it to Animal Enthusiast, so the dude is kind of a greenie, and I dressed him in relaxed clothes with natural colours. He also initially rolled Vampire Family, but as I completed that aspiration with Hathor I re-rolled and he got Successful Lineage. Which can't be worked on as a teen. Bum.

With a lactose intolerant younger brother a cow seemed like a bad idea, so Gwydion received a chicken coop with a rooster and three hens for his birthday. He named them Arthur, Guinevere, Morgan, and Camelot.

Meanwhile, Minerva isn't letting a silly thing like constantly being pregnant hold her back. She was promoted to astronaut!

They celebrate that evening by going to the Spice Festival, and bump in Emi, Flora's friend from her teenage years, now an adult.

Morrigan makes a start on her chopstick skills, but could have done with some help from her grandmother.

Then her and Balor do their homework. Nerds.

All in all it's a pleasant evening trying new foods and listening to music. Flora actually invited Minerva along, but we didn't see her all night.

The next afternoon, it's straight to another festival for some of the Legends - this time, The Festival of Snow.

It was mainly the twins, Morrigan and Mabon, that enjoyed this one. Kaori spend the festival chatting with adults and eating ramen, and I'm sure had a great time too.

Gwydion stayed at home this time because he was going through a phase and busy trying to die of mortification.

Minerva's pregnancy seemed to fly by this time, and for what I hope is the final time she went into labour, then enjoyed a nice relaxing bath to distract herself from the infant trying to crawl out of her.

Make that two infants! Minerva completes her family with a second set of twins, once again a boy and a girl. Bernard is holding the girl, Brigid, named for an Irish goddess of poetry. The boy is named Miach, appropriately considered a "vestige of the divine twins", also from Irish mythology. And that is it for kids this generation! Pray for me that the aliens don't discover Bernard.

Balor: did you hear there's two more kids?
Mabon: seven of us? Isn't that kind of excessive?

Balor and Mabon share the social aspiration, so became BFFs with each other. Efficient.

Wait, what's this? A second missed birthday in one chapter?! I missed it so bad I didn't even manage to find Ceridwen in time to take a picture of her sparkling, but here she is in CAS, looking a lot like both older sister Morrigan and their mother, Minerva. She rolled cheerful for her trait, and wants to be a Whiz Kid.

She became the first kid to use this nook in the pink bedroom for homework, so the bedroom was designated as hers, although I'll probably need to shuffle everyone around soon. That computer is unusable for some reason, probably something to do with moveobjects, so it also needs a bit of an edit.

Kaori continues to be MVG. After finishing Extreme Sports Enthusiast I gave her Successful Lineage, since unlike Gwydion she can actually work on it.

Bernard is also making progress with both his aspiration and career, though not as quickly as his wife. He keeps developing the fear of a dead-end job, but has lost the "regain passion" interaction, so I'm reliant on remembering to give him fear-be-gone potions. I get what they were going for when they added the fear system but to be honest I've mostly found it annoying and not particularly individual to the Sims. Bernard has a fear of being cheated on (as does Minerva) despite no hint of this being forthcoming (they have seven kids, when would they have the time). He also has a fear of unfulfilled dreams and of death. Poor guy is just worried all the time.

I caught Minerva, with her 8 logic points and career as an astronaut, cheating at chess with her ten year old.

So I sent her over-competitive ass out for a jog with Weylin.

Then into the garden, which looks lovely here but is getting progressively glitchier over time. Oh well!

Gwydion seems to be enjoying his chickens. The fridge is full of eggs and he hatched two chicks for the first time. Both roosters unfortunately, so he might be less happy when they get..."traded"...for meat.

No more babies! The second set of twins have their birthdays.

Miach, like older brother Mabon, manages to inherit Bernard's lovely eyes. He is an independent toddler!

And Brigid becomes the only girl to also inherit the blue eyes, yay! She's inquisitive.

Oh my God, more birthdays. We're just in that phase of the legacy, okay. At least Balor got a cake.

And we have another Freegan! Balor adds the same teen trait as Gwydion, so gets a similarly relaxed set of outfits, with some orange persisting from his childhood. He also shares Gwydion's face shape, with those strange puffy cheeks. He wants to be a Renaissance Sim, so at least gets a better aspiration, but neither of the older boys are in the running for heir at this stage.

Twins means more intense toddler skilling sessions.

Mabon and Balor remain BFFs despite the age gap, following on from their childhood declaration. Balor did not finish social butterfly but Mabon has a decent shot of doing so.

Ceridwen, a middle child between two sets of twins, feels kind of left out of the sibling gang. She had a friend over from school but neither of them looked that happy about it. I hope she finds some friends soon!

Unfortunately she and everyone else is about to be very unhappy, because it is time for dear Weylin to pass on. He picked the nursery, because what's a death without traumatising some small children, and it quickly devolved into chaos.

First, when he started dying, Minerva was on her way to scold him for eating the food that had been put out for the toddlers. This woke him back up so he was sitting up and looking around for his death scene, which was morbid and strange. Also he learned not to eat human food...useful, at this point. I was worried it was going to glitch out and the Sims all cramming into a tiny room wasn't helping, but he did eventually zip into an urn successfully.

Grim: I've been reaping this family for generations and that was the weirdest one yet. I need a drink.

Everyone is definitely going to miss Weylin, though. He was a cool dog.

Brigid consoles herself with dolls. Cute!

To try and cheer everyone else up, and because it's the weekend, the older kids are shipped off to the park. They pick Oasis Springs this time.

Luna seems to be everywhere we go, and soon Balor is enjoying a game of chess with his aunt.

Gwydion, meanwhile, finishes grilling and meets and starts to get to know a pretty Sim called Bailee. No, those rings weren't intentional. The random outfit generator strikes again.

Not to be left out, the younger kids also make some new contacts, including this cool orange alien girl called Jewel.

I liked her so much I gave her a quick makeover too, although of course she may revert on aging up to teen and need another one if she gets worked into the legacy somehow.

Finally, Balor also met this rather stunning Sim, Haven, discovered she is hot-tempered like his father, and immediately fell in love (no, that's not healthy, but it is what it is).

Back home he pretends to read while actually thinking about Haven, while Gwydion phones Bailee. I think the boys have found their crushes!

The next day it was back to the festival of youth for the younger kids. I'm not usually this into festivals...I think I sent them along to just about everything at this point, with the exception of Minerva turning down an invite to the romance festival because Bernard was too tired after work. During this event, Minerva also phoned Mabon and asked him if they should have another baby, to which he said 'you must be fucking joking' and also 'get your family planning advice from someone other than your twelve year old please mother'.

Ceridwen and Mabon have bad sentiments towards each other (maybe she wanted another sibling?!) so apologies were attempted.

Morrigan on the other hand calmly chipped away at her creative aspiration.

While Mabon, in befriending Emi, finished his social butterfly aspiration! I hardly ever finish this one, so I was pretty stoked. Working while her kids were at the festival (so apparently that inappropriate phone call to Mabon came from space), Minerva was also promoted to Planet Patrol, choosing the space ranger branch of the astronaut career.

'
Not to be outdone by her twin, Morrigan also finished her aspiration <3

Just in time for the final of many, many birthdays this chapter.

And oh my! The twins are gorgeous! Finally, Bernard and Minerva's genetics combine as they should!
Morrigan rolled goofball to add to her creative trait, and wants to be a master actress. She is by far my favourite in terms of traits and aspiration, and got a 50s pin-up inspired look to go with her aspiration. She does look a lot like her mother, so I quickly checked their genetics side by side...

Similar but not identical! Morrigan has a more heart-shaped, rather than round, face, and slightly larger eyes.
As for Mabon, he rolled materialistic to add to squeamish, and wants to be a friend to the world. Despite two previous chances to finish that aspiration I'm yet to manage it in this legacy, so it's not a bad roll. Mabon is extremely good looking but has a slightly odd body shape, which I think I might try exercise to alter. He was dressed in fairly fancy outfits as a nod to his materialistic trait, which I don't think I've had yet!
All in all I'm very happy with these twins and both are in contention for heirship. We'll have to wait and see what Ceridwen, Brigid, and Miach throw at us though!

Finally, we end this chapter with eldest, Gwydion, doing something OTHER than having a birthday, thank goodness. It was getting late, but Bailee agreed to pop by to see the house and visit him.

Whereupon he secured his first kiss. She rushed off before he could ask her to be his girlfriend, but no doubt that's in the plan for the near future.
And that brings us to the end of the chapter! Will traits and aspirations lead the way to heirship, or will I decide I only care about blue eyes? Will Weylin's ghost refrain from eating the toddler food, unlike every other dog ghost that visits, after his last minute training DURING his death? Tune in next time to find out!
