Welcome back to the Legend legacy! In the last chapter we said farewell to both Cadence and Loki (though Bruno is going to be around forever yet). This chapter, we will be saying hello to our Generation 5 heiress. Will it be tall, willowy, ditzy Sekhmet - amateur criminal, slovenly sweetheart, wife of unexpectedly powerful spellcaster Darrel - or will it be Neith - curvalicious alien hybrid, snarky blue and green beauty, gloomy but wonderful? Read on to find out!

First though, it's only fair to open the chapter with Loki. He was back the very night after he died, jamming on the piano. It was a delight to see him.

Lovely Neith rolled Party Animal for her aspiration, so of course she gets to throw a party for Amunet to make a start on this. Amunet is not in the running for heiress but she'll get a rocking party to see her off.

Doesn't she look pleased with herself? We invited a load of people and most showed up, including Darrel, Bruno, Sekhmet, Genesis, the twins Joseph and Ezequiel (Odin's boys), Trent and Bastet, Hathor, and obviously Amunet herself.

Sekhmet is obviously rather preoccupied with how pregnant she is. Her party outfit was meant to pay homage to her mother, Miko, who wore a cute cat-themed outfit for her everyday. The effect is somewhat spoiled by how enormous she is though.

Hathor, at least, is not horrified by the whole situation like Bastet, and cutely talks to the baby through her sister's belly.

Unfortunately everyone is so busy cooing over her that Sekhmet forgets to excuse herself in time and pees on the dining room floor. Sekhmet has done this several times in her life; she is the only Sim I've had in this entire legacy who has so much trouble if left to her own devices. She'd be a disaster in an ISBI.

Alright birthday girl, it's the moment of truth...Amunet rolls genius! So she's somehow both insane and a genius, with a bit of bro-ness thrown in for good measure. They say the line between insanity and genius is a thin one, but in Amunet's case it's non-existent.

Lookin' and feelin' fine.

Quick YA card...

And without further ado, once the party is over Amunet takes $20,000 from the family fund and uses it to purchase herself the very same starter home that Aphrodite moved out into way back in Generation 2. Farewell, unfortunate middle child! Someone had to be the ignored one of the family. I left her without any relationships or indeed any flags, so what she does with her life now is entirely up to her (actually to Master Controller). I will watch with interest.

After the party, it's time for Neith to focus on herself. I went through her contacts to see if she met anyone interesting while she was at school, and a certain handsome young man popped up.

Well hello, Eric Watanabe, who in fact is not related to the Watanabes at all - his Mum and brother have different last names. He is definitely a Master Controller baby, possibly from before I upped the control level a bit to stop the frightening explosion of babies that was happening.
Anyway, someone got whacked with the good genetics stick a few hundred times.

Neith thinks so, anyway, so much that she develops a case of the crazy eyes. Moments after he arrived at the house we were notified the Romance Festival had started...which was just too good of an opportunity to waste.

Neith: I wonder what happens if we both drink this?
What happens is the option to "mess around" immediately pops up. Horny on main, my friend.

Neith: Sage of love and boning or whatever, can you tell me about my love life?
Sage: what are you asking me for? Go kiss that gorgeous boy you came with!

uwu romantic

First kiss achieved! Just like the Sage advised. Neith appears to have even managed to get his lips, which is not always a given for first kisses.

ABORT, ABORT. This is not so much sucking face as eating face and it's upsetting to see.

They are really, really cute despite the face-eating, though, and Neith ends the evening with a new boyfriend and loads of happy moodlets. Over the course of the festival she discovered he loves the outdoors and is a bro (yes, another one), so that's a pretty decent personality too.

Back at the Legend household, Sekhmet is really excited about her pregnancy and it's really cute, she's showing it off to everyone, including her grandfather Max.

And of course the baby's very excited doting father.

It amuses me no end that the Sims 4 went for a much more realistic depiction of pregnancy. No slender, cute-bumped ladies around here. They're enormous, need to pee ALL the time, and have sore backs!

And also, lets not forget the boobs.
Bruno: *chatting away obliviously*
Darrel: if she leans forward even a little bit her chest is going to swallow that entire plate of pasta.

Genesis: omg her hand is trapped! What do you need to get it out? A crane, maybe?

No one will be surprised that not too much later...
Darrel: omgomgomg you're in labour whatdoido
Sekhmet: whatever I have to pee

No one has tried giving birth at the hospital since Miko glitched trying to give birth to Sekhmet there, so let's give it another go. I consider it promising that a doctor turns up at the same time Sekhmet and Darrel do.
Darrel: omgomgomgomgomg
Sekhmet: it's cold out here. I should have worn a jacket.

Darrel, running past with arms flailing: omgomgomgomgomg
Sekhmet: *loud sighing* so, do any doctors work here yet? I'm having a baby.

Success! Sekhmet gets into the machine and a doctor actually shows up! Darrel, by this time, had fled the scene to go to work, which was probably just as well.

Good to see the doctors are just as competent as they've always been.

Welcome to the world, baby Rohe! We're going a little obscure for this generation, as most readers won't know too much about these deities, but the theme is Maori Gods and Goddesses. I'm from New Zealand, and Maori are the indigenous people here. Rohe makes our sixth girl born in a row in the Legend household, and is named after the Goddess of the Spirit world and wife of Maui. Many people will know of Maui, who is a demigod and who shows up in many Pacific cultures in various related forms (including Maori, but also Hawaiian and many of the Pacific Islands - he's a main character in the movie Moana, which borrowed from and sort of amalgamated a lot of the Pacific cultures due to their overlap, but which had a lot of Maori cast members and advisors).
Of course, if Sekhmet is not chosen as heiress then technically the naming theme wasn't needed for her children, but since she's in the household and in the running, Maori names it is.

Darrel came home after work and proceeded to play with his magic and in fact do absolutely anything but go and meet his daughter. Traumatised, probably.

Also, Sekhmet's labour led to some abandoned food on the table. Cleopatra helped out with that. She's so cute! I'm sort of sad that pets aren't more controllable, but it's cool having them around again. And, Cleopatra is now an adult cat!

There's enough of an age span between the five Generation 5 girls that while eldest Sekhmet is giving birth to her first child, youngest Neith is very much still a teenager and doing teenage things with her cute teenage boyfriend.

Neith's life at the moment, in fact, could not be more different from her oldest sister's. It's actually pretty fun to have her being a wild teenager at the same time Sekhmet is becoming a new mother, even if it's causing me all sorts of trouble with the heir choice.

Hathor, who seems to have chosen to dedicate the rest of her immortal existence to getting jiggy with it, invited Neith to a late night party at the chalet. She brought Eric along, obviously.

She wasn't going to miss an opportunity for more face-sucking/eating, with Ophelia - the OG party animal - getting down in the background.

This just made me laugh so much. Neith partied herself to exhaustion, but it's okay, her immortal undead vampire sister watched over her nap while drinking a Plasma Jane. As you do.

Btw, I've been reading a few ISBIs recently, and did you know that Darrel never once autonomously looked after Rohe? In fact, I'm fairly sure he didn't meet her until she became a toddler. Between him and Sekhmet, this generation would have made for a disastrous ISBI. Bruno, however, is an old hand at autonomously crushing babies skulls with his huge biceps while feeding them.

His other new hobby is woodworking, since it brings in some money. Not the outfit I would have chosen for hacking wood to bits but whatever.

Bruno: hi, I'm Bruno.
Genesis, slowly: yes, Bruno, I know. You gave birth to me. It's nice to meet you.
Bless. Poor Genesis has no relationship with her human father whatsoever.

At least Cleopatra likes her.

Is that Sekhmet baking a cake? It is, probably not a very good one as she hasn't been allowed near the stove since she tried to kill herself by fire a second time. It's a birthday!

Our very first incognito party, too! I let them keep whatever costumes they turned up in since it was our first one, which is how we have Neith - the birthday girl - in a hotdog suit, hugging Sekhmet dressed as a cheerleader. This is going to make for really dignified birthday pictures.

Amunet showed up as a detective, looking deeply unimpressed.
Amunet: God, I just got out of this place and they immediately called me back.
A wild plumbob appears!

Trent, Bastet's husband, showed up as someone who broke out of jail, I guess.

Eric came dressed as the Grim Reaper, looking darkly handsome.

And Hathor came as a scientist, which was pretty cool. Bastet matched Trent by dressing as a criminal and once Bruno got home from work he was also a hotdog.

Hotdog Neith blew out her birthday candles in a filthy kitchen surrounded by her weirdly dressed family and the taco casserole (is that a real thing? It sounds repulsive) Sekhmet miraculously made without setting anything on fire.

And since we had him here anyway, Eric took this opportunity to also have his birthday, surrounded by all the same things and also the cat we allow on the bench and never ever tell off, since I like seeing her up on things.

Introducing our Generation 5 heiress, Neith! Yes, I finally made a decision, although I must admit I've kept Sekhmet and Darrel around long past this point because I wasn't ready to let them go. Neith rolled Outgoing, which is a great trait to match Party Animal and sealed the deal on her as my choice. I want to see if we can get blue skin into one more generation, or if it will breed out immediately (I've heard that's likely). I'm also just not quite ready to delve into the Spellcaster pack so soon after vampires, I'd rather leave it a generation or two, so Neith squeaked into the lead. She signed up to be a politician, since I thought it would help to be both outgoing (able to win votes) and gloomy (realistic about the state of the world).

Hey, Gavin? It's really nice you're not breaking all the plumbing, but what am I supposed to do with eighteen of the same drink?
Gavin: it's a celebration! The Generation 5 heiress has finally been chosen!
He did this all night, over and over. The family bemusedly drunk a few, but mostly they just gathered there on the bar and eventually went off.

He ended his visit, and this chapter, by visiting and meeting Rohe, then haunting the blocks. See the small pink floating things to the left of the cot? That's Gavin.

Anyway, that brings us to the end of the chapter! We welcome the first Generation 6 child into the family and finally selected Neith as the Generation 5 heiress. There were parties galore, progressing Neith's aspiration nicely, and Darrel and Sekhmet auditioned for an ISBI (I actually might save their family and use them one day in the future)! Was Neith the right choice for Generation 5 heiress? Will any of her future babies have blue skin? Will she get a dog now that she's heiress, which I did promise way back when? Tune in next time to find out!
