Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! In the last chapter the Legends finally upgraded their living situation. No more tiny, cramped house - the new digs are super swanky, if not quite finished, and the family are officially living in style now. Kali became a proper adult and her oldest son, Loki, a tempestuous teenager. Let's see what life is like for the Legends now they've upgraded in a big way...

Well, first of all, the whole neighbourhood apparently heard there's a new hottie in town, because Loki suddenly had an influx of eligible male visitors. Oo-er. When this happened totally spontaneously - especially given Diego's swaggy appearance being so very in keeping with the kind of ostentatious confidence I expect my snobbish Loki would adore - I made the executive decision to change Loki's lifetime wish to Serial Romantic. It fits him much better and I decided it was allowed because Max has the Painter Extraordinaire aspiration. From here on in, I relieve myself of any responsibility to stick with the RNG in the case that I'm already working on that aspiration with another active Sim. After all, this challenge is supposed to be fun!

So yeah. Loki flirted his little tush off and Thor was appalled and scarred for life. All seems par for the course for the Legends!

We also had two of the family ghosts swing by to check out the new house. Gavin and Ophelia were the first family ancestors to experience this momentous step forward in the legacy, and apparently it made Gavin sad and Ophelia embarrassed.
SORRY, stupid impossible-to-please ghosts! I'll finish decorating that room soon, jeeze!

Hey, so did I mention that I installed City Living? I expected my next install would be a stuff or game pack but there was a good boxing day sale on City Living that I couldn't turn down. So, the next family outing is to the Flea Market! All five of the Legends come along, as well as Shiva, his wife Janelle, and his daughter Karli.

The first activity on the cards is a friendly family game of basketball. Super fun!

Lol, don't worry Karli. The whole lot of you sucked this bad.

No idea who won or lost, or if any baskets were even made. Kali and Shiva spontaneously stopped mid-game to take selfies so I don't think anyone was taking the game seriously!

The youngest Legends weren't excluded from the active city fun, either, with both  Odin and Thor taking to the monkey bars.

There's a heap of fun new foods to try. Max doesn't look so sure, but I notice he's cleaned his plate!

And everyone seems to enjoy the live music a lot.
Hello there, random photobomber. Get out of my shot kthxbye.

And of course, nothing says family friendly fun like a giant "bubble machine". Which kids aren't allowed to use.

...but which make you look like this after you've used one.
"bubble machine" my rear end!

Hey look, that's one of Loki's amorous visitors from earlier! This is Kai Clinton, and apparently he's very sad that Loki was more interested in...bubbles...than him.
Overall I had a lot of fun at the festival, so far City Living is pretty fun although I probably won't get to make full use of the expansion in a legacy, since you're restricted to your original lot. I know some people are doing some great City-based legacies now though! Something to consider for the future.

Back home, Gavin visits again and he's still angry.
Thor: y so mad, great granddad? This is a totally sweet house, way better than the one you purchased for great gran and granny Athena.
Gavin: HMMMPPH

Kali and Max love the new house, though. Max's romantic trait ensures plenty of ongoing cute, and they're slowly continuing to decorate and personalise the place. In the background you can see Athena's violin, and on the mantle is a trophy obtained sometime in her Music career.

Athena's piano not only continues to have a place of pride in the house too, but also gets some use now and then by Loki - if you remember, Athena personally mentored him during his childhood, and he still likes to dabble and put those early musical skills to use.

With a fancy house, though, comes corresponding bills. The first one that arrives after the Legend's are settled in their new residence is nearly $8000! So off to work with Kali we go, to maximise promotion potential.
Snotty science lady: here we go again -.-
Kali: hehehehehehe *gigglesnort*

To my eternal frustration Kali is not given a single alien-related work task on this trip, instead being instructed to do boring things like make potions.

Hey, if you can't find aliens, just torture your coworkers. Time will pass almost as quickly!

Family time in the new house. The new house with a huge dining table, with room for children doing homework, adults eating dinner after work, and Loki inexplicably chilling in a Christmas sweater from an aborted attempt at a very Legendary Christmas (I was too busy over Christmas and New Year to post, let alone come up with an entire Christmas-themed entry).

The next day, the boys have school and Kali has work, but Max has a day off. He invites his sisters out to the city to check out some fancy art galleries...of course, the fanciest art galleries always have a fully staffed bar.

And for the second time this chapter, my Sims are high on bubbles. Whatever is in that machine might just be a diuretic, judging by poor Kathy needing to abandon the bubbles to find a loo.

When they head out to explore the city some poor they come across a protest against dying trees. Environmental warrior Sims! And Kai Clinton, still in the city, still looking sad. Wtf, dude.

Max is so damn cute. Look at how happy he is, sitting at this nice table with his kebabs. Nothing in life ever really bothers him, he's such a chill easygoing dude. Nice spouse choice, Kali, I'm rather fond of this friendly artist.

It also falls to Max to pay the $8000 bill. Luckily his and Kali's income can sustain their lavish new lifestyle! I should pick an heir already, I clearly need to work on their skills asap if they're to afford their inherited house.

Kali: pick an heir? You can't do that until all my boys are at least teenagers.

Loki: and then he asked for my number.
Gaia's super focused ghost: boy, I asked about your career prospects, not your love life.
Max, in the background: that's my boy.

Kali is right though, there will be no heir choice until all three Generation 4 boys are at least teenagers. And, since we have a huge swanky house, that means party time! The first organised party in ages! Janelle, Shiva and Karli are all invited, of course. Kathy and Diane, the aunties on Max's side, also come along. Much fun is had.

Karli: hey Mom, why do Thor and Odin get a bar and mixologist for their birthdays? They're like, ten. Can I have a drink?
Janelle: Shiva's goddamn crazy family 0o

Random picture?? The lounge is cool though, lookie.

As for the actual birthdays, Thor is up first as the slightly older twin. The hamburger cake suits his personality, no? As an aside, neither him nor Odin completed their Rambunctious Scamp aspirations...I was too busy with house upgrades and expansion explorations. Ah well, plenty of generations to go!

Thor: omg I'm old
Me: LOL
Thor added Insane to his Lazy trait, so he's going to be super fun to progress through any career! However, despite this, he wants to be a Master Chef. Um, okay, you little weirdo.
You're awesome though. Look how cool he looks.

Too cool for school, amirite. It's hard to see what he really looks like with the glasses but there's a CAS genetics comparison shot at the end of this chapter.

Odin is next to blow out his candles, chocolate cake for him.

Oh. My. God. HE'S PERFECT.
Odin adds Materialistic to his Music Lover trait, and rolls the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration. It fits!! So well!! Also, a fun aspiration to work on. Ngl, Odin is fab, but in saying that I genuinely love all three boys this generation and I'm going to have a really hard time picking an heir.

Odin gets a sharp, preppy everyday look - the antithesis to his twin's effortless cool. I think they both look wonderful in very different ways.

And finally, to finish the chapter, we have the Generation 4 Genetics comparison panel. These boys looked identical as children and while they're very easy to tell apart now, a close look shows some very similar genetics. They all have the same nose, eyes and mouth - though on the plus side they are not clones of either parent. The nose is from Max, the eyes and mouth from Kali. However, Loki DOES have a different face shape and skintone than the twins, so at least he is slightly different and their similarities can be explained by them being identical twins! Overall, while a greater diversity is nice to have, they're distinguishable and all three boys are VERY handsome. My goal for the spouse of whoever ends up heir will be to inject some really good genetic variety.

So that's the end of the chapter! Thank you for your patience in waiting for this post - as I have mentioned in passing before, I was working on my PhD thesis over the last year. I have, in the last week, submitted it!! So it's been about a month since my last post but I had a good reason for the break. Tune in next time for a heir choice...feel free to comment over at Boolprop if you have a preference!
