Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! In the last chapter Minerva and Bernard discovered contraception, then Bernard accidentally killed Minerva's sister and her other sister's long-term boyfriend in a dinner party gone badly wrong. Gwydion and Balor moved out and on with their non-legacy lives, and I was back down to eight Sims and hopefully able to avoid killing any more of them.

Being back down to eight Sims meant it was safe to progress with Ceridwen's aspiration to become a Good Vampire (the limited form of CAS you're restricted to when you have more than 8 Sims means shenanigans can happen with vampire dark forms). So off Ceridwen went to Forgotten Hollow to meet Vlad.

After convincing him she'd totally be an awesome vampire if he'd change her, she followed him inside his creepy house...

Did the blood sucky thing...

Then booked it out of there, since she has a different kind of vampire life in mind than Vlad would likely approve of.

Still being a teen, Ceridwen then goes back to regular teenage life, including homework, while she waits for the change to take effect, with the only current difference being two huge great puncture wounds in her neck. Classy.

Oh, and also some purple glowing and a sore stomach, of course.

There are a few vampires in the Legend family at this point but none for a while, and Kaori understandably needed a drink to cope with her granddaughter deciding to become an immortal undead horror movie monster.

Also we have another birthday, with Bernard entering the world of grey hair and sore backs! Not that I can show you what he looks like, as I apparently forgot to take any pictures. He will appear in some later, but they're attached to specific events so I can't put them now. He looks like himself but wrinklier, basically.

Minerva on the other hand is still young and very spry, and making good progress with her Bodybuilder aspiration. I brought Mabon and Ceridwen with her to the gym - Mabon so he could meet more people for his Friend of the World aspiration, and Ceridwen because I didn't want to miss her transformation.

Which, sure enough, happened in the gym toilets. Strange vibes.

Back home she got her undead lady of the night makeover, and doesn't she look so cool?!

Of course, she did also keep her non-dark form appearance too. Being a Good Vampire means fitting in with the squishy mortals.

It also means chowing down on mostly plasma packs instead of other Sims. One of the first things Ceridwen has to do is just not drink deeply for five days, so she makes a start by ordering plenty of these things online.

While his older sister is vamping it up, Miach is in need of more social options, so arranges an afternoon out with twin Brigid to meet some people.

How hilariously relatable/accurate is it that this appears to have involved moving from the computer in his house, to a computer not in his house. Me too, buddy. But he did bump into childhood friend Serenity, now also a teenager. She had the blonde hair with blue tips as a kid, so in her quick teen makeover I went all out with blue hair because why not.

However, not too long into a conversation with Miach, Serenity let him know she doesn't swing his way. I truly have no idea at this point if sexuality is now built into the game or if that's part of MCCC, but either way Brigid, who swings both ways, was happy to step in.

She quickly secured a first kiss...

And an official agreement to date, commemorated with a selfie. Nice going B!

This is what Serenity looks like in more detail, btw. I think she's beautiful, and her hair and eye colours are both different to Brigid's for some nice genetic variety.

Back home, Kaori's retirement looks lovely, doesn't it, with her penchant for moonlight fishing now that the kids are all older and in need of less supervision.

She begins making a concerted effort to add to the fish collection with development of the fish wall to keep the Knight company, locking in the gummy fish and skeleton fish that usually I have no ability to find no matter how hard I try.

Come morning, the older twins are up early and caffienating, because...

Young adult birthdays! Here's grey Bernard, looking dapper as his oldest daughter becomes an adult.

Of course they don't look any different as YAs, but Morrigan immediately jumped on the phone and signed up with a talent agency so she could start working on her dream of becoming a famous actress. She rolled the trait Good to add to Goofball and Creative, so is just all around a fun lovely person.

Mabon, meanwhile, rolled Loner to add to Squeamish and Materialistic so is...a less nice person. His career pathway also wasn't quite so obvious so in the end I threw him in engineering. As you can probably tell from my lack of enthusiasm, while I have a soft spot for him as the first of the kids to inherit blue eyes from Bernard, he's not my choice for heir and will be moving out later in the chapter.

I realised at this point I could have done this last chapter, when the youngest twins became teens, but better late than never - the CAS panels! The order is Gwydion, Balor, Ceridwen, Morrigan, Mabon, Brigid, and Miach. I only realised when I put this together that I have Gwydion and Miach the same hair, lol. There's some subtle but effective genetic variety in the Gen 8 kids and I really love several of them, but especially both sets of twins, in terms of looks.

The day of the birthday, Morrigan is still limited on prospects for a romantic partner, so her and Kaori head to Windenberg to scout out potential spouses. Kaori uses the opportunity to fish in another location.

Morrigan starts by giving an impromptu and very silly looking street performance...

Before heading into the pools for a swim. 0/10 realism, one could not maintain that perfectly coiffed hair in a pool in any universe.

Then...success! Morrigan spots an attractive young man with bronzed skin and brown hair (yay variety!) named Kareem. He quickly lets on that he's unflirty (like Bernard...can you say daddy issues) but he's handsome so he'll do. They hit it off and Morrigan gets his number.

Once back home, Kaori seems to know something is up, because she autonomously hugs Miach...

Then heads to her studio to quietly die on the floor. Oh no :(

She is laid to rest in the family plot next to her wife, Whaitiri.

It's a little strange picking a pretty iconic Sim that ships with a pack, as they live so many different lives in other people's games, but I loved having Kaori in the Legend family. She got to enjoy both her hometown of Mt Komerabi and her new home with her family in Willow Creek to the fullest, finishing two aspirations and raising three children and seven grandchildren. She loved Whaitiri despite all her quirks and sacrificed her own career success to spend more time with her family. She will be missed!

The whole family are, of course, devastated to lose Kaori, but life must go on and Morrigan channels her grief into her performances.

Which honestly might be a little intense considering she's been hired for a cleaning commercial (which appears to be pirate-themed) but who am I to critique her process. The closest I've ever come to acting is a part as one of the witches in Macbeth when I was about eight years old, in which I concealed the script in the cauldron because I couldn't remember my lines.

Morrigan pulls off an earnest swabbing of the decks to sell some soap or whatever and gets promoted to Guest Star. Woohoo! This is my first time playing with this career and it's pretty fun.

Our starlet in the making celebrates with a trip to a nice cafe.

Where she meets Kareem and they continue to get to know each other after briefly connecting at the pool.

Morrigan locks in a first kiss and he agrees to be her boyfriend! Also, I didn't dress him, that was all randomly generated, and he legit matches Morrigan perfectly. It's fate!

Also check this out. Because she doesn't really sleep much any more, Ceridwen has been doing a lot of yoga, and she's gone from soft and curvy to...this. I don't think yoga alone can give you a six pack and the scary buff legs of a body builder but there you go.

Having resisted drinking deeply for five days she now needs to ask permission from two Sims to drink, so this dapper gentleman wandering past the legacy lot becomes her first hapless donor.

Meanwhile, not to be outdone by her outrageously buff vampire daughter, Minerva completes Body Builder after maximising her body potential! All the buff ladies in this family. She gets Angling Ace next, to take over from Kaori in the fish collecting business. This also gave her 12 total traits and she unlocked the Most Interesting Sim achievement. Go Minerva!

It's not all the grind though. With Kaori gone, Minerva makes sure to step up to help her kids with their homework and have a chat about their lives.

Jewel: I am very excited to marry your brother, sister Brigid.
Brigid: cool, you guys are gonna have weird-coloured kids!

That's right, Jewel was moved in briefly for ease of conducting a wedding, held at the medieval themed wedding chapel that J Huntington III died in way back in the earliest generations of this legacy. His urn is still there! Bernard also used the opportunity to prepare three gourmet meals at an event, whipping up a wedding cake, trout meuniere, and crispy squid to feed the guests, and finishing Master Chef in the process!

Jewel spends some time with her sister-in-law's to be before the ceremony.

As well as her soon-to-be husband of course!

And then everyone gathers to watch them tie the knot in the romantic chapel.

Then, I am impatient to have a smaller household so I have Mabon and Jewel move out immediately, which in hindsight was stupid because he just needed one more charisma point to finish Friend of the World, making it three times I've now failed to complete that aspiration in this legacy. Anyway, Jewel has the Child of the Islands trait, so Mabon took his $20,000 and I renovated the home Balor moved into in Sulani to give it two bedrooms, and they joined him at the beach.

And that brings us to the end of the chapter! With just Morrigan, Brigid, and Miach at home, the heir race is narrowing rapidly. Will Miach manage to find a partner that keeps him in the running? Will Morrigan be the first Legend to really hit the big time? Will Brigid ever get to go to Selvadorado like she dreams to? Tune in next time to find out!
