Welcome back to the Legend Legacy! In the last chapter, Rehua moved out and Whaitiri became a toddler, leaving the two potential heiresses - her and Kui - to battle it out. However, because Whaitiri was a....surprise baby, shall we say (thanks, risky woohoo), the timeline is such that Kui also had her first child, a girl called Juno. Juno is the first Generation 7 child of this legacy, but is only eligible as a future heiress if Kui is officially declared the Generation 6 heiress over Whaitiri. I have decided to keep Whaitiri around until she has kids, before choosing both the Generation 6 and 7 heirs, so this could get interesting - Whaitiri (Generation 6) is only slightly older than Juno (Generation 7). Still, what's a little more chaos in a legacy, right? Is that not the point?

We open this post with a sick but not-too-bothered-about-it Luca, following his promotion to Hungry Artist. By this point I was feverishly saving for a new house - this one has served the Legends well, but they need more space if Whaitiri and Kui are both going to be sticking around and having families, and I need a change of scenery.

I took this picture because Mika has become an elderly doggo, though she looks no different really.

And speaking of doggos, Kui started spending a lot of time in Brindleton Bay making friends with them around about this time. Friend of the Animals requires QUITE an investment in animal time, with 12 animal friends and a 8 animal good friends. I really want to finish it because I haven't before for that aspiration, even though it's exactly as tiresome as the Friend of the World aspiration I failed back with Ophelia.

Meanwhile, Whaitiri is a step closer to challenging her sister for the heirship. Child birthday!

Oh, I really like this kid. That green hair on her skin tone is *chef's kiss*. And she's erratic! Carrying on a proud streak of family uniqueness that started in Shiva and also made itself known in Thor...I'm not mad about that as a trait at all.

Rehua visits the Legend residence a lot, especially since Bastet died, but is less than impressed to meet his niece Juno.
Rehua: ugh, a child!
Yes, Kui had one so you wouldn't have to. You should be grateful.

Just a quick moment of Eric and Neith sweetness. I love how they're still autonomously affectionate with each other all the time.

For Love Day, they exchange the same crocus flower. While they both love it from a holiday perspective, as it meets a goal, they also both hate it and get person minus minuses from the interactions. This made no sense to me but maybe crocus flowers are actually insulting and awful for some reason.

Later, to try and up her celeb status, Neith holds another meet and greet, again almost entirely with family. Sloane is Thor's daughter, and Rohe and Arohirohi are Sekhmet's daughters and Neith's nieces. But hey, it's nice to be fawned over I guess.

There is at least one non-related-to-her fan, and she manages to become a three star celebrity!

Unlike his wife, Eric has absolutely no desire for the spotlight and is content to let her thrive in her high-powered political career while he potters contentedly around in his garden. Not without his own success, however - he was promoted to PHD of Pollen, the top of the botanist career track. You go, Eric! He looks so happy here with his umbrella and his ominous collection of alien gnomes.

He also spends a lot of time with Rehua whenever Rehua is visiting, which is very sweet. Eric is just lovely in general.

When Neith gets home from appeasing her adoring fans, it's time to be a good grandma and help Juno with her toddler birthday.

She cute! So are all toddlers, I guess, but loving that she got Kui's green eyes and Luca's brown hair. She is a charming toddler.

Juno isn't the only one having a birthday, either. Kahu joins Mika in elder-doghood, and receives a fetching smattering of grey in her black fur.

Whaitiri: so, with Juno growing up, don't forget that she may or may not be eligible for Generation 7 heiress yet, as you have not officially selected a Generation 6 heiress and I am still in the running.

Whaitiri: look, I'm even making lots of friends as a child so I will be able to easily and quickly find a husband or wife on reaching the appropriate age.
Whaitiri, it seems, will not let the Gen 6 heirship go to Kui without a fight.

Neith, meanwhile, has been given a video station and this serves the dual purpose of slowing increasing her fame and earning money for the new house fund. She likes to make 'inspirational vlogs' a lot (because the whole lounge has so much inspiring decor any Sim that walks into the room immediately is overwhelmingly inspired). I'll leave you to decide based on where you live how you would feel about your President/Prime Minister etc making inspirational vlogs, as Neith is the National Leader in the politics career.

When not gardening, Eric is besotted with his granddaughter Juno <3

Oh hi there, Gaia! How nice to have the founder drop in again! How do you think your legacy is going?
Gaia: I'm happy enough. Things got a bit crazy in the middle with Loki, but I don't mind the joint heiress take with Kui and Whaitiri.
Kali: Hey! Loki has been the best thing to happen to this legacy so far!
Eric: hmmm. Good cake.

Kui is sad here, but she got promoted to Head Caterer so I'm not. Money money money!

Then she manages to make progress on her aspiration by playing with one of two required ghost pets. Hi, Maui!

Then she pops around to see Rehua and share some big news.
Kui: hi, little bro. So, I'm pregnant!
Rehua: again?!

She whips him up some fancy sandwiches before she leaves, to make him feel better, utilizing both her amazing chef skills and her Always Welcome reward trait. I mentioned in an earlier chapter that I wanted a Sim to max all three cooking-related skills and learn all the recipes, and Kui is making good progress except for the recipes, which she hasn't really started. Must get onto that.

Unfortunately she's going to be distracted and mopey for a while, because dear old Eric's time has come. His potion of youth has been utilized, and gave him enough time to see his youngest daughter reach childhood, but alas, he must now move on.

Luca is the only one home, and dutifully stops painting to be shocked and cry a bit, despite honestly not knowing Eric all that well.

He is given his place in the basement mausoleum, next to Maui and Cadence.

Farewell, Eric. Like most of the legacy spouses so far, you were a quiet and steadfast presence, behind Neith all the way to her position as National Leader. You were a great Dad, even when the third one was a big surprise, and even got to be a granddad for a little while. See you soon in ghostly form, I hope.

It seems rather cruel to give Neith her potion of youth now, on the eve of her beloved husband's death, but it was kind of a now or never situation. She looks less than impressed, even though of course we need her around to help with her grandkids AND to finish raising her youngest daughter, ideally.

Randomly, Ezequiel took this opportunity to visit the Legend household for the first time. He's one of Odin's twin sons, and is a vampire, but did not nom anyone while here. Mostly he just hung out with the ghosts.

Whaitiri channels her grief into her art, and also makes progress on her Artistic Prodigy aspiration. Kahu, who is so filthy she has a literal cloud of flies with her at all times, is not impressed and howls the whole time she plays.

Meanwhile, Kui is not only sad but also nauseous from her second pregnancy.

She still has to go to the park to make friends with dogs, though. She makes steak while she's there.

And catches up with her friend from earlier in the chapter. Aww!

Later, Luca's second promotion of the chapter sees him much less pleased than the first, despite not being sick this time. Sims really hate standing in the rain, I've found. Fair.

His night doesn't get any better when Kui's adopted dog Mika, rescued from the streets, passes away, for a second death of the chapter and right on the heels of the first. Mika was a challenging dog in some ways - Kui never managed to do much training with her - but she contributed a lot to Kui's aspiration progress and will be missed.

Kui distracts herself from her really quite intense sadness now (moodlets from both Eric and Mika) by reading to her daughter, which for some reason Kali finds embarrassing.

Then, she only has to pop over to the crib in the corner to give birth. Kui opted for home births for both her babies, which makes sense only with how simple labour is in the Sims. My friend recently had her first baby and was in labour for SIXTY SEVEN HOURS.

Not this girl though. A few hours of discomfort, a little spin, and voila! Meet baby Vesta, named after the virgin Goddess of the hearth, home, and family. Her Greek equivalent is Hestia. Barring risky woohoo mishaps, this will be Kui's last baby, as the plan is for her and Whaitiri to have two each.

Whaitiri: yes, don't forget me! Still in the running! I have green hair!
Whaitiri also got her A in school really quickly, so she's really giving this race her all.

Excited face, Neith? What's up?
Neith: well, for one, I have the emotion bomb quirk so I cycle through intense emotions really quickly, but also I just had a great idea. I can distract myself from the tragic death of my husband with a night on the town, for Night on the Town the holiday, as everything is free so it doesn't even impact the house fund.
I mean, sure, if you want.

Neith: table for one, please!
I'm not sure how going to a fancy restaurant by yourself immediately after the love of your life dies is a distraction, but I was hoping Neith might work on her celebrity aspiration. She needs paparazzi now, but sadly none have tried following her anywhere yet.

Still, I think she enjoyed her fancy space taco and wine.

A random fan wanted her picture, so that's cool, but she does not count as a pap. Boo.

Back home, Whaitiri continues to excel and completed her Artistic Prodigy aspiration! I gave her whiz kid next.

Which her doting mother makes a start on helping her with. I constantly have to remind myself Whaitiri is Neith's daugher, not her granddaughter.

Kui, meanwhile, needed some fun, and the quickest way to get some is under the covers time with your handsome husband. Unfortunately, he brought his salmon to bed with him. Really, Luca?

He was actually super glitched and couldn't complete any actions, only start them and immediately stop them, so after a quick reset (thank you, MCCC), it was time for him to help Juno with her child birthday! Juno achieved Happy Toddler but was miles away from Top Notch Toddler, as is very standard for me in the Sims.
And...I didn't take a CAS picture of Juno, so you'll have to wait until next chapter. She rolled the Evil trait though!! And wants to be a Social Butterfly.

It was then, immediately, Luca's adult birthday, so we quickly whipped some candles back on the same cake. Juno is in the background pre-makeover. Uncomfortable Kali and Angry Ophelia also stuck around for another party.

AND THEN. A third death of the chapter! Kahu departed the mortal coil quietly in the kitchen, right after Juno and Luca had their birthdays. Farewell sweet doggo.

Kui, and the rest of the family too, were pretty devastated by this point. Eric, Mika and Kahu passed away close enough to each other that for a little while, all three moodlets overlapped. Kui managed a brief reprieve from her misery though, by sitting in the overwhelmingly inspiring lounge while eating a magnificent gourmet meal. She has now maxed Cooking and Gourmet Cooking, and is level 6 in Baking!

And despite all the loss of this chapter, and the consequent sadness of all the Sims, we can't finish this chapter without a final birthday. Vesta became an Angelic toddler, and like her father is a spellcaster! I hadn't noticed, but Juno is not a spellcaster, so I guess it can be inherited but isn't always. Juno has the strong bloodline trait but not the fancy spellcaster needs panel, or the gemstone thing that lets you teleport to the magical realm, whereas Vesta has the trait and also both of those other things.

You can also see her she's a spellcaster in CAS, and Juno lacks this. Interesting! One green-eyed, brown-haired human, and one brown-eyed, black-haired witch result from Kui and Luca's union, giving us two very cute potential Generation 7 heiresses.

Just by the by, Luca loves his love heart pants and spends a lot of the time dressed only in them. He managed a promotion to Imaginative Imagist around this time.

And Kui also got yet another promotion, to Pastry Chef. Which gave us ENOUGH MONEY N THE HOUSE FUND. OH MY GOODNESS.

TA DA!
Isn't it AMAZING?! It took a lot of preparation, as I had to save a lot of the Legend's collected crap from over the years, but this beauty is an 8 bedroom, many bathroom mansion of a house. It's three story, with plenty of room for not only the kids to have their own bedrooms but also for the elders of the family to move into a lovely zen room for their retirements. It has a spa/gym, a pool out the back, and space for all the activities you could want. It lacks a lockable basement, unfortunately, so collections are something I will have to sort out and in order to have the ghosts out, I think I'll need a mod to prevent autonomous mourning, but all that will follow in future chapters. I'm not going to do a house tour because it's so huge that would be a chapter on its own, but you'll see some different backgrounds in the future and I'll try to give context as we go.
If you're interested, I got it from the gallery (I just searched legacy house, and sorry but can't remember the creator's name) and it cost in the region of $460,000.

And that brings us to the end of the chapter! Will the Legends like their massive new house? Will Whaitiri roll good enough traits as she grows up to stay in the running for heiress? Will Risky Woohoo throw more spanners into my careful, lovely plans? Tune in next time to find out!
