Chapter 5.4: Generational Stereotypes
Welcome back to the Legend legacy! In the last chapter Exodus, Leviticus and Kui were adorable, Neith became pregnant with her second child, and Bruno discovered he can woohoo with his ghost husband and did that and only that for a whole chapter.

Have some slightly more wholesome content to kick this chapter off. Maui is friends with everyone in the family, including the toddlers, and we love him. The only thing we don't love is that he stands in the middle of adult-toddler interactions whenever the adults are teaching them something (talking or flashcards) and just barks repeatedly. I cannot stand repetitive barking in real life dogs but my Sims just ignore him even though he's three inches from their faces.

There's about to be two fewer toddlers in the house, at least! It's Leviticus and Exodus' birthday, and Neith throws them a party in the park. Unfortunately, there's some goddamn stupid holiday involving brawling on so the party isn't goaled and doesn't count. I for the most part love the holidays but that is certainly one to delete off the calendar.

The whole family is invited, as per, and of course that includes Rohe, who I still love.

Sister Aro has been less fortunate in the genetics department. Still, you have to give them a chance, as child genetics don't always give you a good idea of what they'll really look like.

Precious Levi in his little tux! I know these guys aren't going to be as cute once they're older :(

Exodus has the sisters enthralled (with child-hating Bastet as the obvious exception - she must hate these parties).

I think she prefers to stick to grown-up company. Still, she always shows up!

Exodus, as the oldest twin, is the first to blow out her candles. Their older sister Genesis baked the cakes <3

Then Leviticus right after. Alright, let's see what we've got.

Small eyes and no pointy ears :( Pollination technician genetics seem to be overpowering Bruno in Levi's case. Still, he's not terrible! He also looks very different to his twin, so there's some Bruno happening in them somewhere. Levi rolled Gloomy as his child trait, so we have two gloomy Sim in the house now, as he joins Neith in endless melancholy. He would like to channel his sadness into his art, and become an Artistic Prodigy.

Exodus grew up in this hair so the red ribbon provided inspiration for all her outfits. Her mouth and nose are both very different to Levi's, and I think it might be her that takes after Bruno more. She rolled Loner, so despite both her and Levi achieving the happy toddler trait, they're not exactly cheerful children! She wants to be a Rambunctious Scamp, but by herself, please.

From one social event right to the next, Grace Means - Trent's (Bastet's husband) sister - is friends with Neith because Neith convinced her to vote for her at some point, for her politician's career, so invited her to the flea market. Neith brought Sekhmet and the girl's along to spend some time with the alien twins. Aro adorably meets her youngest, still in-utero cousin.

Then they enjoy a rousing "game" of basketball, if basketball involved everyone having their own ball and taking shots at the same goal all at the same time. Nice try, EA, but this is stuuuupid.

Neith sets her mouth on fire eating curry while they all enjoy watching the busker.

Then Neith supervises Sekhmet's girls getting to know their alien stepbrother.
Neith: Leviticus is Bruno's alien son and we all know he's a little weirdo but you have to be nice to him anyway.
Neith got the confident "discovered aliens" moodlet during this social event so, like, good on you for finally noticing I suppose.

I think Jean was less impressed when he met Leviticus though. Jean is a distant Legend relative, being a son of Jeremiah and Tanvi, who traces all the way back to Apollo from Generation 2. I won't be keeping close tabs on the relatives any more because there's so many of them now, but I do watch the family tree with interest. And I meddle - Jean had a child with Isla, who was Karli's sister and thus traces back to Athena via Shiva, producing our first double-up on the family tree. No Jean, bad! That's your second cousin! I deleted that Sim, and Isla is now dead so at least her and Jean are prevented from further procreation.

Shortly thereafter, while surrounded by family ghosts, Neith goes into labour with her second child.

Then pops outside for a kiss from Eric. I have so many pictures of this interaction because Eric does this whenever he sees her. After work, after he gets in from the garden (do you like our llama statue? So fancy), when they both have no queued actions, he kisses her cheek. It's so cute I die.

Did I forget to take the alien birth certificates down again? Yes I did. Did I neglect to put the alien crib away too? Also yes.

Oh my God, he's a hybrid! And he's a he!!
Miracle of miracles, we finally have another boy in the legacy line. Meet baby Rehua - 25% alien but 100% blue, which considering I wanted to see if Neith could manage to pass on her skintone one more generation, I'm beyond delighted about. I really expected hybrids to breed out this generation. Rehua is named for the star God with the power of healing, and most likely will be the last child of Generation 6. After five kids in Neith's generation, I could do with a break! For those interested in pronunciation, in Te Reo Maori it's Ray-who-a, and you roll that first R.

Erika and Bastet both swung by after the birth to congratulate the parents (again, this is big of Bastet, considering).

Erika: my grandson is very cute. I'm sure I'll get used to him being blue.
Bruno: I've given birth to three blue children, you learn to love them.
Erika: you mean your wife gave birth.
Bruno: I really don't.

Miko's ghost also swung by to angrily meet the new arrival.
Miko: if you'd chosen my daughter as heir you'd be choosing a powerful Spellcaster as your next heiress, not picking between a boring old human and a 1/4 blue idiot.
Someone's bitter.

Speaking of spellcasters and aliens, Leviticus is constantly getting asked by Aro to ditch school with her, and he usually does, but she keeps taking him places with nothing for kids to do.

So he amuses himself taunting this weird stranger who butted into their conversation.
Levi x Aro, alien x spellcaster, future OTP anyone?

Kids these days, always on their phones.
Leviticus: this is a nightclub, there's nothing else to do.
Fair.

Back home, I have to resort to my very first moodlet solver of this legacy, because Kui's birthday is today so we have this afternoon and this afternoon only to throw her a party, and Neith was exhausted from work.

The moodlet solver does it's job though, and soon she's wrangling the whole family - again - for a birthday party. This time there's no dumb holiday on. Come on baby, we need a silver medal!

But first we need some last minute skilling, because Kui only needed one last skill point for the happy toddler trait.

While Neith attends to that, Eric and Amunet get grilling!

While the kids do their kid things. He's not a guest, he just happened to be here, but blond boy is Ace - Eric's little half-brother.

Levi playing space aliens. A little on the nose, don't you think?

And of course Sekhmet is here, along with Rohe somewhere. We spared Bastet this party, on account of the many, many children.

Where was Bruno, you ask? The family's long-lived weird grandpa was on drink mixing duties. However, despite the fact that he LOVES spending all our money at home mixing drinks, here he mixed and mixed but never produced anything. On account of his failure, this party was only a bronze medal and Neith didn't get to count it for her aspiration. Bruno! I'll let the aliens at you again if you're not careful >=/

It's getting dark by the time Kui blows out her candles. Goodbye, cute little green flower outfit, I will miss you.

She cute! Once again, you have to wait for the teen birthday to really see what they'll look like, but I like Kui a lot so far. She rolls Self-Assured, so I guess she likes herself too. She, like Exodus, wants to be a Rambunctious Scamp.

After the party, still high on the effects of the moodlet solver, Neith rounds out the night with a jog with Maui. A good day all round!

The next morning, Loki asks Bruno out for breakfast, and well...we always say yes to Loki.

We see a couple more distant Legend relatives - Cedric, top, is related via Jeremiah (and a result of adding Pets - his mother is Catarina). Danika, bottom, is related via Lorna - so both descend from Apollo originally, via Aron.

Loki and Bruno are closer in death even than they were in life. Bruno could propose to him now if I wanted, but I do not want a ghost in the household thanks - our numbers sometimes get mad enough as it is. I've never had a playable ghost though...worth it or no?

For now, anyway, Bruno will have to settle for ghost-initiated dates and woohooing whenever Loki haunts us.

Eric was promoted to Stem Researcher, and now has a job title that at least sort of matches the funky eyepiece he insists on wearing still.

Bastet continues to be a frequent visitor to the legacy house, and celebrates with Eric with a game of chess. He needs logic skill now.

Then she even goes and visits and TOUCHES her nephew! I see you not really hating children all that much, Bastet.

I think (rather stupidly) the game actually treats hating children as literally hating only the child stage, so these two keep out of the way when Bastet visits with some synchronized homework in the bedroom currently shared by Eric and Neith in one bed, and Genesis in the other.

While Bastet's family-loving mother, in ghost form, protects Exodus from Bastet's wrath.

Bruno is really embracing his status as fun granddad (even though he's actually Dad in this case) and is seen here dancing with Leviticus. Adorable!

And as life rolls along in the household, we prepare to meet our final toddler of this generation.

Clingy wee Rehua manages Dad's black hair, Mum's green eyes, and to be a hybrid, and he's so goshdarn cute that with all his advantages he's going to need some rubbish traits for Kui to get a look in as heiress, lovely as she is! It's so nice to have a boy and a girl this generation, after the complete wipeout last generation with five girls.

And just like that, Harvestfest has rolled around again. Eric makes turkey for the family, and apart from Neith insisting on sitting on the chair that I put for toddlers to use (otherwise they walk all the way into the lounge to eat) this is a nice enough family photo by Sims standards. They all had a GREAT Harvestfest (I'm better at holidays now we don't have so many Sims in the house) and only two of our gnomes wanted to kill us in our sleep.

Rehua ended the evening making friends with Maui and it was PRECIOUS. Look at that doggy smile!

And of course we need a bath picture. Genesis, still around because $20,000 is a lot of money to give her to move out, is actually pretty helpful and plugs the gap on a lot of adult interactions when Neith and Eric are busy with work stuff.

Neith and Eric still do their fair share though <3 Look at her, in her power suit and everything, reading her son a bedtime story.

As for the kids, I don't talk much about how they go with their grades, huh? Truth is, we haven't had an A student since Hathor, and that was because vampirism means she didn't need to sleep. Am still bad at this game overall, really.

Sometimes Rehua gets dropped to day care because all the adults are out partying at a rooftop bar in the city, though. The three kids are left at home, without supervision, because eight year olds are well known for their sense of responsibility and excellent decision making.

It was Night on the Town, a holiday where all food and drinks are free, which meant no silver medal for Neith's aspiration (boo) but...free food and drink, that's a) appreciated and b) a terrible business strategy.

Rohe got to come as she's now a teenager, even though the previous activity of using the bubble machine made everyone stoned and definitely wasn't teen-appropriate.

Eric: yay it's my birthday!
Genesis: did you say people were getting stoned? I want in
Rohe: oh my god this is so cringe

And then Eric became an adult and nothing changed because adult birthdays are pointless. I wish they got another trait when they became adults. How great would it be if it selected from a more limited pool of traits you might expect as you get more mature? Like 'enjoys red wine', 'loves home improvement programs on TV' or 'wears socks with sandals' (these examples are not my millennial ass just reaching for stereotypes, although they are, they are all courtesy of my own parents. Thanks Mum and Dad!)

Quick aside before we get back to the house and finish the chapter, I just HAD to jump into CAS to see what Rohe looks like behind her comedic glasses. If Sekhmet had been chosen as heiress, barring other children (I might have chosen for her and Darrel to have three in the hopes of a boy) Rohe would be the likely heiress. This Sim is the most genuinely interesting Sim I've ever managed to create via actual gameplay, she's so unusual looking. She got Darrel's nose and eye colour, but Sekhmet's lips and eye shape, and her face shape too. She has loads of freckles, and the characteristic red hair. I genuinely adore her and I think she's very pretty but in a completely unconventional way. She sort of reminds me of someone you might see modelling high fashion because she is striking rather than typically beautiful. She's definitely one I will be saving to the gallery for use in future projects.

Anyway, back to Neith to finish us off, who has Rehua thoroughly confused by whatever she's trying to teach him.
Neith: and then you go to the ballot box, and you put MY name down, and only my name, and only EVER my name.
Rehua: ???
Yeah so Eric, her beloved husband and soulmate, who was delighted when she told him her policies, thought she "wouldn't make a good leader in the community" and refused to vote for her. Bastard.
And that brings us to the end of the chapter! Will Rehua squander all his obvious advantages by rolling terrible traits? Will I regret having just two children this generation if they BOTH roll terrible traits? Will Bruno ever die? His age bar has been glowing for days and I got the warning about wrapping up his final affairs ages ago, but there's always a chance the aliens will want one final shot at his...womb? You'll have to tune in next time to find out!

Have some slightly more wholesome content to kick this chapter off. Maui is friends with everyone in the family, including the toddlers, and we love him.
